Stayed for 5 nights and it was amazing, I could have easily stayed longer! We booked a private transfer after hearing the TUI bus could take up to 3 hrs. The private transfer took 1hr5 minutes. On arrival we were blown away by how beautiful the area was and the views. We quickly checked in and then driven up to our room at the top of the hill in block7. We had upgraded to the cool living section and enjoyed the pool, views, service and food. The staff were attentive and so friendly. We ate breakfast, lunch here every day and enjoyed the meat hub (ate here twice for dinner during our stay). We also enjoyed the Amphiteátro for dinner, the food was delicious and service attentive. I can highly recommend the mixed grill. We stayed to celebrate my 40th birthday and was surprised with a wonderful cake. In fact I can say that this hotel had the nicest cakes, desserts and ice cream that I have come across. So much so I ate too many of them! We had lunch one day at Mezze. I didn’t realised when I booked that this was more fine dining. You choose from a set menu (there was only 3 available to choose from when we went. Personally it wasn’t to my taste, the sea bass turned out to be ceviche sea bass and the octopus tenticle was too big for me. (Suckers were massive). Though all the food was presented beautifully and the services was excellent. The hotel is well situated, Elounda is only a 20 minute walk away which we did on a couple of occasions. We took at taxi to plaka to get the boat to Spinaglona. It was lovely to visit the island after looking at it every day from the hotel room balcony. This hotel is situated on a very steep hill, however there is a mini bus shuttle or a car on request that takes you up and down. We did walk from the top to reception a number of times, walking down is fine. We even walked up once right to the top but there is no need to. In summary this hotel is def worth visiting and we really enjoyed our stay. We would 100 per cent return for another visit.
