Let's start with the environment. It's quite good for a hostel, with private bathrooms in the rooms and a complimentary breakfast buffet. Honestly, there's nothing to complain about except for the front desk service. However, the absolute worst and most off-putting aspect was the front desk service. When I checked in, I could only do so through the Mount Emei Hotel front desk. The receptionist told me there was already a lady in my room, so I confidently took the room card and swiped it open. To my shock, I found only a foreign man inside! The booking interface clearly shows that this hostel has separate male and female dorms. Due to the receptionist's error, I mistakenly entered a male room. We were both quite startled, and luckily, it was daytime and he wasn't asleep yet. Just imagine, with their casual attitude, what if it had been a single female guest sleeping in her room at night, and a man with an incorrectly issued room card suddenly walked in? Eventually, I got a new room card and a different room, but the problems didn't stop there. I went out to get some water and when I came back, my room card wouldn't work. Thankfully, I had my phone to call the front desk for help. I was left waiting outside in the scorching heat for a long time before someone finally came to give me a new card. I hope the hotel strengthens its management and training for service staff. Their work attitude and competence are truly terrible.

Clean, quiet and easy to navigate. Hotel staff very helpful (once is worked out they were in the big hotel on the site). I really enjoyed being in 峨眉山 rather than 峨眉 city, great selection of local food and one decent coffee shop!

Very friendly staff. We also got complimentary breakfast and a shuttle from the train station. The pools were also great, the room was the only okay part, everything else was great.

The kids were really happy! The breakfast at the restaurant was delicious, especially the tofu pudding – so good! They also loved the swimming pool and the hot spring. Next time, we'll definitely stay for more days! We'll come back again in winter!

The room was great, clean and hygienic. They even had free washing machines and dryers, and to top it all off, breakfast was included and absolutely delicious! The price was so low for such great value for money, I'm really happy!

Having traveled solo for many years, this is the best youth hostel I've ever stayed in. This time in Sichuan, the first thing I did was visit Mount Emei. I initially chose Emei University Hostel just so I could shower and sleep after descending the mountain before continuing my trip. However, from the moment I placed the order, Ms. Xu, the hostel manager, contacted me constantly. From luggage storage and restaurant recommendations before my arrival to the thoughtful care I received during my stay, and even the final departure from Emei, Ms. Xu's arrangements made me feel safe and cared for. I highly recommend Emei University Hostel to all the ladies who want to climb Mount Emei! Lastly, their buffet breakfast is absolutely amazing; I tried many local specialties, including sweet-skinned duck, bamboo leaves, and tofu pudding... 😋

I went there sight unseen and I wasn't disappointed. When I booked, there were only two reviews, but it said the place had just opened, so I went for it. I booked a room in a 4-girl dorm, but I was alone. I was greeted by Ms. Xu Yan Peng, who took excellent care of me. She speaks very good English and didn't hesitate to give me her number so I could contact her directly if needed, as not everyone in the hostel speaks English. The room included a well-stocked buffet breakfast, and everyone was very friendly. Honestly, I highly recommend it. The only slight downside is the slightly hard bed, but I think that's the same in all hostels. The location is also very good, especially if you want to hike Mount Emei.
