The hotel makes an effort and the rooms are clean with friendly staff. The town unfortunately has seen better days and not a lot to do. I recommend staying in a different area.

In short: - very unfriendly, unprofessional and condescending staff - we did not feel welcome and treated properly - no value for the price - They tried to have a woman at 5 months pregnant stay in a cold (15C) and wet room without offering a solution or an apology The Dependance Double Room: - cold and has mouldy smell - heating did not work - wet walls are covered up, but the paint coming off the wall was still on the floor -> not properly cleaned - dark and uncomfortable neon light in the bedroom - far from the main house - View of the parking lot and trash bins The Suite: - not the standard you expect from a suite at a four star hotel at this price :( - the bathroom has no real windows, only huge plastic plates - cold air is coming in through the crack between floor and plastic window > we had to cover it with towels - there is almost no water pressure when turning on the shower or tub to warm water - filling the tub takes so long the water is almost cold agin - the shower has no adjustment to tilt it, so the water hits you straight in the face, which is only for the first minute and then it becomes more like a drizzle - since the bathroom windows are only thin plastic, the sound from the cars of the street is as loud as if they were driving through the room and woke us up several times at night - there was a constant background humming noise, maybe from the vents or other rooms heating? - When lying in bed and wanting to watch TV you can only see parts of the screen since the bed frame blocks your view. Why they don’t put the TV higher up is beyond me. - The walls and ceiling would need renovation after what appears to be a water leakage - you hear the neighbours and people on the hallway - the view from the suite is directly onto the hotels trash - the sound of opening the door to the suite sounds like when prisoners are being released for curt-yard break The breakfast - for a 1 star hotel it would be fine - for a 4 star hotel it is just simply embarrassing: cheap white bread, cheese with no taste, packed yogurt cups from the supermarket, not completely cooked scrambled eggs, some pastries and fruit you have to cut yourself - The breakfast is divided in two rooms of which only one has the “buffet” - If you are unlucky you are in the other room from which you first have to go outside through the cold and into the other room to get your breakfast and take it back to your table with two heavy doors in-between - For this the doors just stay open and it is very cold in the breakfast rooms Upon arrival we did not receive a greeting, only a sharpe “you did not announce you are coming with a dog!” Which I did when made the booking. After checking the reservation they had to admit I wrote about the dog, but then it was my fault I did not tell them the size of the dog! After some annoyed sighs they checked us in and gave us the warning that the dog is not allowed at breakfast nor the restaurant and has to stay in the room. For in

One night was not enough for us.. we will definitely be back to sleep under the ceilings of the 700! The rooms on the first floor are rich in history and unique details. the staff is kind and available at every request. Her Buffet breakfast is served outside and at 7.30 it’s a real peace to relax feeling the birds.. They also have a wide choice of products for coeliacs like me :) approved!

Courteous welcome, and directions on how to park the car (in an inner courtyard in the shade of small trees). Rooms range from functional to Italianate suites, our room was spotless and cool. Pool and gardens all good. Meals all well executed; the Neapolitans are proud of their cuisine. Only downside is the dilapidated area in which it's located, but the hotel itself is excellent 👌

The hotel is a huge WOW absolutely stunning, everything we wanted with the Italian character. Once you walk through the main gateway you are transported back in time . The restaurant staff were lovely, chatty and funny . We had lunch ,on our first day of our 3 night stay , it was very enjoyable and also ate in the restaurant first night . The food was very good although the menu wasn't very extensive, things like gnocchi and pizza would be nice . I have only given 3 stars due to the hotel being overrun by 20 or so school children who ran a mock of a night till 3:30 on our first 2 nights . When I complained after first night although they went and told the adult supervisors I got the impression they weren't bothered. Response from the lady on reception was " they are on holiday and are children" Yes we were also on a quiet holiday ! Location of hotel is in a very run down area it is very central for walking to train station and Hercolanum site plus a leisurely walk to Torre del Greco. Once you've gone down the road to the Golden Mile the area improves. Take plenty of mosquito control we were eaten alive . With a guarantee of no school parties being in the hotel we would definitely stay here again armed with our mosquito repellent

All the care and attention you'd expect from a family owned hotel. Having booked the whole hotel, we saw that rooms vary widely so it's worth spending a little more as they range from acceptable to absolutely spectacular. A good location; fabulous pool with bar; amazing cleaning staff and a really delightful hotel with a helpful and accommodating team.

We have just come home after a 4 night stay in this beautiful hotel. We were part of a large group staying for a wedding. We had a standard double room, just a short walk from the main building through the gardens. Close enough though to nip easily to the restaurant and reception. Far enough to feel you have a lovely secluded spot to sit out on your own terrace in private. Room was spacious and had plenty of wardrobe space, drawers, bedside tables, desk and chair, phone to contact reception, a lovely bathroom with decent shower and a small terrace area with table and chairs and shade. Very clean throughout. Fresh towels daily. We had air con and a hairdryer which were both a god send. Staff were so friendly and helpful - even before we arrived they happily arranged taxi transfers for us and answered any query we had. I would highly recommend organising taxis through reception as you pay the hotel directly so you can’t get ripped off by local drivers who we have heard catch quite a few people out. The swimming pool area is great - everywhere is so clean and tidy around the hotel. Beautiful gardens too. Plenty of sun loungers, towels, shaded areas and secluded spots to sunbathe away from the pool area too. Perfect. Could not fault housekeeping - our room was spotless every day - they have a very high standard of cleaning here. Mini bar was handy as you have a fridge in room to keep any other snacks or drinks you buy locally cool. My only recommendation would be that bottled water should be complimentary - even if it’s just a litre bottle each day put in the room as part of the cost of staying. Especially as there are no tea and coffee making facilities in the rooms. When you arrive late or need a drink mid afternoon when back from sightseeing - your only option is to use the pool bar or mini bar in room for water as local shops a bit of a trek and closed all afternoon for siesta. At 2 euros per small bottle in the hotel it can add up quickly for a basic need to just stay hydrated. Even a water cooler on site to fill your own bottles with would be better and healthier. Local shops and restaurants are great - once you get past the very uneven and high curbed pavements (there is a lot of rubbish to navigate around too) - but you must get clued up on the opening hours as popping to the shops in the afternoon to get water or tobacco doesn’t work here. Cigarettes are not widely available in supermarkets etc - only designated shops that display a T outside. We visited the ruins (Herculaneum) which were close by to the hotel as we were told they were just as good, if not better, than Pompeii (just on a smaller scale) - and it was a fantastic trip. The skeletons were a bit eerie to see but fascinating. I would highly recommend this hotel for a lovely short break - we didn’t want to leave! Thank you to all the staff at the hotel for making our stay so comfy and enjoyable.
