Reviews of Hotel Luise

We've been staying at this hotel regularly since 1984. It's convenient to everything in Erlangen, very comfortable, and wonderful staff. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and quiet. Try the mini-suites for a little more space, they're excellent for couples. There's always plenty of table (indoors or out) in the Breakfast Room and the choice of food is quite comprehensive. This trip, the weather was perfect and the rooftop garden was eh perfect place to enjoy an afternoon beverage before heading out to dinner. Because the weather was so nice, we spent most our time outdoors otherwise, the fitness room and sauna offer a great place to relax. The focus on Green Methodology & Sustainability are noticeable and admirable in every aspect of the building and grounds. Hotel Luise has it all!!

As usually in Germany: great food. We had diner and breakfast. Great. Nice restaurant, the terrace, the little park: enjoy the silence! Nice people. So what made me stop at 3: the guesthouse. The inside is quite ok, the outside does not really look inviting. But that's just the outside. The bathroom is missing a simple coat rack. If you don't need fresh towels every day, then you need something where you can let them dry... Something so simple. In the very near future: would be nice to have a charging point in the near area

I do not recommend this place. The rooms are small. The breakfast is acceptable, although the choices are not rich. The personnel is unfriendly. They need a better training. Not a professional hotel to stay. The location is very good. Close to the center of the town.

We had an excellent experience at Creativhotel Luise. This sustainable hotel is very well located, right next to the city centre of Erlangen (beautiful city, well worth the visit!). The team and the owner are great, very friendly and passionate about the fantastic eco initiatives they have implemented at the hotel. I definitely recommend and will go back.

The rooms are tiny. Some of the personnel are unfriendly. The breakfast buffet was almost empty when you come to eat after 9am. The hotel is used mainly by very short time visitors/tourists. Although the hotel claims to be bio and environmental friendly, I did not see any difference compared to other hotels. I do not recommend this hotel.

A lot has changed over the years and I have seen much improvement. The eco hotel has a great roof top terrace and I love staying there. The staff is very friendly and there a many places to explore in this hotel. I hope to come back soon. I recommend checking out the spa and maybe try a massage? I will try it next time for sure!

I cannot recommend this hotel. In the bathroom, I found various hairs in the bathtub, on the hairdryer, and under the sink left by the previous guest. The silicone sealant in the bathroom is moldy, and according to other guests, this is apparently the case in several rooms. The carpet is disgusting, as it is very worn and looks unhygienic. The pathetic attempt at Asian-style decoration in the room fails miserably, as evidenced by a crumpled piece of paper with hotel prices stuck to a rusty nail on the wall. Parking in front of the hotel is extremely limited, and the overpriced parking garage is incredibly cramped and only reasonably comfortable for small cars. To make matters worse, various types of rubbish stored in the underground garage make maneuvering difficult. The room doors look like they are regularly broken into, and the locks don't work very well. After cleaning, the room isn't locked; the door is simply pulled shut, which doesn't exactly inspire confidence. The toilet flush, bedside table, and bathroom controls are ridiculously labeled with unsightly and barely legible markings. The hotel falls far short of its "organic" concept, especially since the breakfast buffet isn't entirely organic, but only partially so. I strongly object to any comments from the hotel regarding this objective assessment! The hotel is grossly overpriced and falls far short of even a basic standard of cleanliness and order.

I understand, of course, that any hotel in Erlangen sells like hotcakes, but you also have to have a conscience! What I didn't like: 1. The arrogant and unfriendly staff - the embodiment of all the nasty stereotypes that I've never even encountered in reality. I travel a lot, including around Germany, but this is the first time I've seen something like this. 2. In the summer, the rooms are stuffy, dusty, and hard to breathe, and the weather was quite cool. I saw that renovations were underway, so maybe the rooms will be air-conditioned. 3. Most of the rooms didn't have a minibar. 4. The room is microscopic - a pioneer crib and about one and a half square meters of free space. 5. They even "squeezed" shampoo. They charged money for disposable slippers. 6. Inexplicably expensive for all of the above. Pros: 1. Good saunas. But even here they "amused" us. They give out exactly two towels at reception, then you have to bring them back wet and return them there. 2. Not a bad breakfast. 3. Central location. Conclusion: unless it's another "exhibition" where even the spots under the bridge are already reserved, I won't be setting foot here.

The breakfast buffet is truly excellent. The service is also good. However, entering the room is like stepping back in time: the bathroom tiles are from the late 70s, the terrycloth curtains are from the same era, and the bedside rug would have made any respectable housewife in the 60s proud. The floral pattern on the bed frame and the armchair clash completely. The Buddha's teachings in the desk drawer seem rather contrived. Guests are presented with calming words by Anselm von Grün – presumably to help them remain calm upon seeing the curtains. When asked at reception, they noted that many rooms have already been renovated, but apparently not all. Therefore, it's advisable to request a renovated room. As mentioned before, the breakfast buffet was indeed very good.

Wir suchten ein Hotel für einen Zwischenstop nach Österreich. Bekannte haben uns dieses Haus direkt empfohlen, diese Empfehlung geben wir hiermit gern weiter. Das Haus ist relativ zentral, doch trotzdem ruhig gelegen. Parkmöglichkeiten vor dem Hotel und eine hauseigene Tiefgarage sind vorhanden. Der Empfang war sehr angenehm, wir fühlten uns sofort willkommen. Das Zimmer, ausreichend groß, mit einem kleinen Balkon zur Straße hin war absolut sauber und individuell möbiliert. Das Mobiliar war in einem gepflegten Zustand, liebevoll ausgesuchte Dekoartikel runden den guten Eindruck ab. Zum Frühstück war alles reichlich und frisch vorhanden, die Brötchen waren echt gut, es gab ausreichend Plätze und das Personal vor Ort war aufmerksam, hilfsbereit und freundlich. Das Nachhaltigkeitskonzept wird hier wirklich gelebt, ja vorgelebt und das alles, ohne belehrend zu wirken. Chapeau dafür! Wir haben uns hier sehr wohl gefühlt, auch wenn es nur eine Nacht war. Man merkt den Mitarbeitern an, dass sie Spass an der Arbeit mit dem Gast haben. Ganz sicher werden wir die Luise auch beim nächsten Mal auswählen, dann aber eine Nacht länger, Erlangen ist eine wunderschöne Stadt, hier gibt es viel zu entdecken.

Habe schon öfter hier übernachtet und wurde bisher nie enttäuscht. Fragt man sich zunächst was man sich denn genau unter einem "Creativhotel" vorzustellen hat, muss man einfach auf die vielen Details achten, um sich das Konzept selbst erklären zu können: Fotoausstellungen im Hotel, ein großer Garten (mitten in der Stadt), saisonale Deko an vielen Stellen und das Meiste mit der umweltfreundlichen Philosophie verbunden. Der Hit ist jedes Mal wieder das Frühstücksbuffet. Durch die Aufteilung wirkt es vielleicht erst etwas wenig, aber es ist tatsächlich alles da, was man sich wünscht. Vieles bio oder regional. Die Zimmer sind hübsch, aber sowas ist ja meistens Geschmackssache. Sauber war es bei mir auch immer. Das Personal war immer freundlich und hilfsbereit. Mir gefällt das Konzept, weil es anders ist als in vielen 0-8-15- Kettenhotels, was vielleicht auch daran liegt, dass es familiengeführt ist. Wenn man sich dann noch für umweltfreundliches Reisen interessiert, gibt es in Erlangen keine Alternative :)

ich komme gerne hierher. Das Hotel ist erfrischend anders. Das Nachhaltigkeitskonzept überzeugt und wirkt nicht aufgesetzt. Hauptgrund für meine Rückkehr war das Frühstücksbuffet, hier wird man verwöhnt. Das Boxspringbett sticht auch positiv heraus. Kreative Idee mit dem phosphoreszierenden Sternenhimmel über dem Bett.

Ich habe mich selten so gut aufgehoben und geschätzt gefühlt! Freundliches, entgegenkommendes Personal, schönes Zimmer, ein Frühstücksbüffet vom Allerfeinsten. Hier kann man sich nur Wohlfühlen! Es wird alles für Gäste UND Umwelt getan - was will man/frau mehr!
