Pestana Gramacho Residences

Don’t believe the negatives, these apartments are new, clean and have all required facilities, kitchen area, shower room and twin beds. Nice sunny balcony. There is a gymnasium on site and two swimming pools. Free shuttle bus to Gramacho and Pinta golf courses. I was on a golf trip, so exactly as i required, these are not really designed as family holiday apartments, albeit that families did seem to be enjoying them. If you want to walk. It’s only 1k to Gramacho club house and the adjacent supermarket, but remember there is the free shuttle. Staff were welcoming and helpful, I thoroughly recommend the Apartments, but if they want to improve things, a bar in the reception are, with snack options would be nice, but its not a game changer.

Nice stay but not without a Car really . Ideal for golfers of course. Couples on a sharing holiday with a Car perfect .

I'd say it's a fantastic hotel for golfing. It's specially catered for the golfer. There are 2 pools but situated separately for guests. For a 4 star hotel the rooms are brilliant. Everything is available. Electric cooker indesit took a little getting used to but lots of descriptions on YouTube. Dishwasher, washing machine/tumble dryer, fridge/freezer, cutlery, plates, dishes, frying pans, saucepans, kettle, microwave, toaster, coffee machine. 2 varandas and a drying horse. Lots of cupboard space with safe. We didn't use the safe as it was safe not to. Cleaning/housekeeping service would only appear if arranged and booked. The closest restaurant is about. 5 miles away and shuttle service is provide by the hotel from 7am till late evening. The restaurant is situated at the golf course but is very pricey. There is a grocery shop near by but not part of the hotel and a stones throw away. It too is extremely prices for example I bought a basic tooth brush for euros. Although good for emergencies. I downloaded the Uber app and ordered taxi service frequently. Prices are shown before booking. We wen to Benegil caves for around 13 Euros. There is a Lidl not far and situated in Ferragudo which is 4-5 euros by cab. You can do all your grocery shopping there. Stuff you would need - washing powder, dishwasher tabs, coffee, tea, sugar, salt & 3 pepper seasoning, shampoo/conditioner, suntan lotion, after sun lotion, tooth brushes, toothpaste, change for the coffee machines in foyer. Towels and soap are provided. Although the room was safe it wasn't safe in the foyer. My son lost his cap and satchel that he forgot in the foyer. One would think the staff would see it and hold it for you in lost property but I'd advice you not to leave anything behind. The pool and grounds are immaculate but some umbrella's by the pool were rusty, bent and didn't open. The staff don't speak much English and come accross uninterested. One or 2 staff members were friendly. There is a gym and you will have to ask for the key to use it. Access via lift and the door locked with a bycilcle pad lock. The sauna and steam room were not in working order. Checking out time is 11am and possibly extend by an hour but anything after suitcase can be locked and all other facilities are available to use eg pool, gym before departure.

Before i start i want to say that i've stayed at this resort for a golf holiday in a villa previously and it was the most enjoyable golf holiday i've ever had. This holiday we made a mistake and when booking through yourgolftravel we unfortunately without knowing booked Pestana Gramacho Residences for our villa when we should of booked Pestana Gramacho Resort. So to explain Residences only have one villa to my knowledge which we were allocated. We were told it was brand new and had stunning views of two of the greens. This is a complete lie. The villa was not brand new. It was filled with cheap furniture which I don't think even Ikea would sell. Tap fittings were loose, shelves were loose (one actually fell off) and the swimming pool is in need of drastic maintenance. This villa is so far away from the club house and resort amenities. The views were of some old farm and we were kept awake all night by dogs barking and howling through the night. When we went to reception to let them know of our issues about the dogs, we were told that maybe we need to relax and take up yoga! The golf courses are fantastic and so was the previous villa we stayed in, which is why we returned. We are going to return, but next time we'll make sure to book the resort and not the residences.

I enjoyed my stay at these apartments. We were a party of 8 golfers, rooms were twin but we had one each. The apartment had everything you needed, fridge, cooker, microwave, coffee making. Pool area was good, just for those staying in apartments. Handy for golf, nearest town Carvoeiro was a taxi ride away.

Stayed at Gramacho for 7 days , superb apartment overlooking the 4th hole, had breakfast at the clubhouse 10 euros, breakfast fine. Golf on all 4 courses was superb, alto, pinta , silves and gramacho. Must recommend a couple of places in Carvoeiro, the best restaurant for miles AL GALE, must try the Portuguese steak and flambé prawns. Plus the wonderful and friendly pub A BOA VIDA, the friendly family run pub, great service, music and a personal touch. They went out of there way to make us feel welcome and on 2 occasions ordered us taxis when none were available ( after 2am) Jennifer and her parents own a wonderful bar very welcoming to golfers, families and couples. Have to say next door the CARVOEIRO BAR is completely different, a little bit more lively although watch you change when getting served as 3 of our group got short changed by at least 40 euros overall, plus some dodgy characters hang around in and near the pub. The owner offered our group a free drink on arrival, which swayed us to go in a few times, whether he is involved in the dodgy bar staff not to sure. Be very wary !!!! Overall a superb time with a great group of friends. Highly recommend this part of Portugal for the golf, weather and hospitality.

Note: even they make you believe this is part of the Golf area, it isn't (the street connecting isn't for normal cars. Accessoble only by a long deviation uncovered road.... Yes, all is relatively new and modern stlye - but that's all. Even it should look a bit valueable it's cheapest stuff what they used. Yes Fitness is nice, Sauna you need to book in main Pestan Golf resort but they close 18;00... The biggest disadvantage of this place is (next to the low quality standard) the location in middle of nowwhere. Rates were around 40€ before pandemic which is acceptable but now they try to sell for 70-80€ -look for better location for same price!
