Advertised as having a restaurant but they do not do food. No breakfast available. Very expensive for a very basic noisy room overlooking a busy main road and a few yards from a mainline railway. We had a pleasant welcome but were charged £80 (I thought I had been told £60 but I may have got it wrong). The nearest place to eat is nearly a mile away.

Just an overnight stay following a concert at Powderham. The family room was clean with tea, coffee making etc. The Galleon is on a very, very busy road and adjacent and very close to the main London to Penzance rail line. Trains are frequent. If you're going to stay here a back facing room may be better. Barmaid was friendly. Restaurant seems to be closed at the moment. We had breakfast at the Orangery in Powderham.
