Rancho Valencia is the epitome of a well designed and thoughtful resort replete with beautiful guest rooms (casitas), common amenities like a culinary garden, chicken coop, and waterfall you can visit, tennis on site, an excellent spa (offering delicious bone broth complimentary) with daily access to the wet areas, and on site dining options. The property is beautiful and the staff is excellent. We very much enjoyed our stay and will return.

An outstanding property. Service and food was terrific. The spa and pool area were great. Our room is one of the best we ever have stayed in.

Beautiful property, luxurious, excellent housekeeping, fitness center and spa. Pluses—Pony Dining room, especially outdoor seating was lovely, dinner delicious, though they often run out of the daily specials early (7:30PM). Complimentary mini-bar with snacks, large beautifully appointed rooms, great staff. Fresh orange juice delivered to our room each morning is a lovely addition. Room service was excellent. Excellent personal trainer (Ricky), massages and other spa services. Misses—too many outdoor events, weddings, children’s parties etc that are noisy and distracting in the set up. The area is adjacent to guest rooms and the dining room, so noise and assembling and disassembling was distracting and noisy for a luxury property. Breakfast service was slow, so slow we were comped one breakfast, we had to leave before it was fully served.

i am a very experinced traveler. this hotel in the best i have seen in terms of staff services, food, housekeeping - they really go out of their way very wiilingly to help guests. they do not act like you are imposing on them even when you are actullay imposing on them.

2026-0727 Hello, I was debating whether to write a review, but decided today it was necessary even though we didn't pay the bill. Our son came from LA and treated us to my birthday. We also live in Rancho Santa Fe, and we had visited the resort a few years ago but never ate at the "Pony" restaurant. We were there for brunch. My wife had an omelette which had no taste and half the dish was filled with some wild lettuce with no dressing or olive oil or parmesan. Just terrible. Her orange juice was not fresh squeezed, which you would expect. I had the lemon pancakes which was good. Our son had a Mexican dish which he said was ok, but he had better Mexican food from a food truck in LA. Our son paid the bill which he said was over $200 + tip. The cost was not the issue. The quality of food and service was the disappointment since it is supposed to be a resort and a high quality restaurant. A big let down for a special family event. Tom & Crystal

Love love love this hotel. I want to live there! The spa treatments were A+++++, the food is amazing, all of the staff seem really happy to work there. Molly Simpson, a manager, made our trip after a little spill my mom took. Cant wait to go back.

We stayed for 4th of July with our two young kids. We had a blast at the pool and the restaurant. The boutique has awesome shopping and clothes options. The customer service is unmatched - they gave both of our kids jellycats stuffed animals upon check-in. Overall experience was 12/10.

We have been to many resorts that feature tennis and spa but Rancho Valencia is a place where every detail is intentional and every guest matters. We will return yearly for this unforgettable experience.

My wife and I had the best experience. We’ve been to monarch, pelican hill, montage and I must say Rancho Velencia may be the best of them all.

We got married at Rancho Valencia Resort & Spa and stayed at the resort for two nights alongside our family and closest friends (including some who came with little kids) — and the unanimous feedback from everyone was that this was hands-down one of the best hotel and resort experiences we have ever had. Honestly, if we could give more than 5 stars, we would. From the moment we arrived, every detail felt thoughtful and intentional. The casitas were incredibly spacious, beautifully maintained, and impeccably clean. The entire campus is also very serene and peaceful--it makes you feel like you are getting a true, restful vacation (which says a lot coming from a stressed out bride). Most importantly, every single staff member we encountered — from housekeeping, to in-room dining, to the team at The Pony Room — was extraordinary. The level of warmth, hospitality, and genuine care made us and our guests feel completely at home throughout the stay. Service was also very personalized. For example, one of our guests had difficult sets of allergies and dietary restrictions, and they went out of the way to stock up the room with food and drinks that the guest could actually enjoy. Even amongst Relais & Chateux properties, Rancho Valencia truly ranks on top of our list. My husband and I already promised each other that Rancho Valencia will become our home away from home whenever we visit Rancho Santa Fe. We cannot wait to come back.

Simona and the team at Rancho Valencia provided the perfect girls weekend getaway. With 10 kiddos between me and my girlfriends, a long weekend of R&R was much needed and Rancho Valencia delivered on all levels. From the moment we arrived with champagne and a warm welcome to beautiful meals, spa services, pool days and pickle ball, we had an absolute blast. We felt the luxury in every moment and the art of being well taken care. We are endlessly grateful for the time and ease this experience provided us and we will definitely be back!

This resort was wonderful. I have no complaints. Our casita was perfect! I asked for special beverages to be stocked in our mini fridge and they had them ready and waiting. The spa was fantastic, the Pony Room was amazing and a great vibe. Highly recommend staying here. You will not regret it!

All items 5 star except wait times/service in the (restaurant) the pony room. Food excellent- service was not up to the task but they kept apologizing ( 2 meals). Room service was flawless. Will give them a pass as they nailed everything else during our stay!
