The room was great, and the view was unbeatable. Staying by the river truly immerses you in the Tuojiang River and the ancient city, making it very quiet and pleasant. However, because it's so close to the river, the room was a bit damp, so those sensitive to humidity should be aware. Overall, the minor flaws didn't detract from the overall experience. I've been to Fenghuang many times, but this was my first time staying by the river. I really recommend staying by the river; a good view genuinely fosters a good mood. Thanks to the owner for upgrading our room, helping with our luggage, and sharing authentic local tips, which ensured we ate and played well during our stay!

The family room on the first floor was great overall, the only downside being the noise from the small road outside the window. The breakfast environment was a big plus; even when we went in our slippers, the staff gave us a warm heads-up. The butler service was excellent, providing transfers to and from Hongqiao throughout our stay. I genuinely feel like we found a really good hotel with great value for money and excellent service. I will definitely recommend it to my friends.

GGuest UserThis homestay was a bit off the road and 2 large sets of stairs to the front entrance. The staff was wonderful, waiting for us at the street to help with our luggage.
With the use of my daughters translator we were able to book the evening boat tour on the river with the manager. We expected a better view from our room thinking the supplied photo on the room description would be our view. Our mistake. I guess that is the 3rd floor view. The room was really nice, clean and comfortably accommodated 3 adults. The location was great right by the river and one bridge to cross the river.
There was a mix up the following morning with our transfer to the train station but they were able to arrange new transportation and we managed to just make our train. Very little if no English is spoken so a translator app is a must.

IIsis RaquelOur stay in this hotel was lovely. Location is superb and our room with view was perfect to enjoy the river! Attention from staff was top! They helped us find the parking and helped us bring our bags to the hotel. The room was well equipped and they provided additional disposable towels. Bathroom could use newer installations, however everything worked without problems.
There are stores nearby and walk to city center is not far.
I would stay again for the lovely view!

I accidentally left my headphones behind when I checked out, and the owner contacted me immediately to mail them back to me. 👍🏻 Definitely a guesthouse worth staying at, I highly recommend it to everyone!

GGuest UserGreat location, close to the iconic Snow bridge 雪桥, where the hustle and bustle is. There's alot of bar/karaoke downstairs, but the volume lower down by midnight.
Owners were very prompt with replying via WeChat, with any questions or map, helped us with booking the ticket combo of 8 sight seeing spots and boat ride, cheaper than the counter.
Took a cab from the railway station (for 25yuan) to the designated parking spot, and the owner came to pick us, helped us with our luggage to go through the ancient town.
Overall very good stay and we had a memorable time here in Fenghuang.

MM29ngvcdz****Staying at this hotel was a great experience. They upgraded my room, which was clean and tidy, with good hygiene and no noise. The pillows were very comfortable.
They have a laundry room, so I washed and dried a few days' worth of clothes, hung them in the room, and they were dry by morning. The toilet, shower area, and commode are all separate and very clean.
The hotel is located right by Hongqiao Bridge in the ancient city, and it's considered the most luxurious high-end hotel there. The butler service was excellent, and they even gave me a delicious complimentary gift upon checkout.

BBenbenniaoAn excellent stay! Even before our arrival, the owner was incredibly thoughtful, calling ahead to confirm our arrival time and waiting to greet us. Because of road construction near the entrance, he even went out of his way to guide us to parking. Seeing that there were three of us, he kindly upgraded us to a family room at no extra charge. The room was huge and very clean, with floor-to-ceiling windows offering a great view. Since it's located upstream from the old town, it was very quiet at night, yet still conveniently located—just a 10-minute walk to the heart of the old town. The next day, as we had to rush to our next destination, we didn't have time for breakfast. The owner thoughtfully arranged for the breakfast auntie to prepare our meal early so we could take it with us on the road. Truly very considerate!

GGuest UserWe had a pleasant stay at this hotel. The location is great—slightly away from the main tourist areas, so it’s peaceful and less crowded, yet still very convenient. There are plenty of restaurants and convenience stores nearby, making it easy to find food and essentials.
The hotel faces the river, offering a nice view, and you don’t have to drag your luggage over any rocky paths—the car can drive right up to the entrance, which is a big plus.
We stayed in the rooftop room on the 4th floor. While there’s no elevator, the staff were very helpful and carried our luggage up during check-in and back down when we checked out. The owner and staff were all friendly and accommodating, which made the stay even more enjoyable.

Mmakia11It’s a wonderful place to stay. The room is spotless and beautifully decorated with great attention to detail. The bed was very comfortable, and the heating worked perfectly in cold weather. The location is also excellent.
The only downside was the bathtub area, which looked different from the pictures. In reality, it has a half-open window instead of a full-size one, so in winter, cold air comes in, making it too cold to take a bath. But in spring or summer, it must be a great experience!
All in all, we had a wonderful, cozy stay and would definitely recommend this hotel!

Cons:
- at the top of a BIG hill (it says elevator is provided but it only brings you to the start of what are a VERY long climb of stairs to your room)
- nowhere did it say the room would only be accessible via stairs (saying they have an elevator is very misleading), only because I read a review which mentioned there were stairs did I make a special request to have my bags kept at reception as I wouldn’t be able to bring them to my room. Even though I booked and made my request in advance (via Trip.com’s process when booking), they did not even read it so I had to deal with this problem once I arrived.
- wiring in the shower (not sure if it’s save or not, but made me uncomfortable)
- due to my tier level with Trip.com I was told I would get; late check out, room upgrade and free breakfast. When they checked me in and I asked about breakfast they told me that I didn’t have it included. After showing them I did, only then did they actually look at my booking - terrible. I then asked about the room upgrade as the hotel was not fully booked and they said that this was the room upgrade… it was not, this was the room I booked (which is fine, I just don’t appreciate being lied to when you clearly didn’t look at my booking).
Overall thoughts:
- if you only have one small bag that you can carry with ease, then it’s great
- if you have large/multiple/heavy luggage don’t book here! You can get a day ticket to walk up the hill (where the hotel rooms are) for pictures of the view
- Trip.com please get this hotel to actually look at the bookings made and to honour special requests and tier privileges where possible
