Fenghuang Lanqiju River View Stilt House B&B

Booked this place for the river view from its balcony. It did not disappoint 😍

The entrance to the accommodation is located inside a costume shop, which was quite a unique surprise. The host was friendly, introduced us to nearby attractions, and even referred us to a few restaurants with small discounts. The view from the room’s window was also very nice. However, the room’s hygiene was not up to my expectations. Another downside was the water heater — it uses a storage-type system, so when I wanted to shower, there was no warm water available. With better cleanliness and a more reliable hot water supply, the stay would have been much more comfortable.

We had a great stay here. The hotel owner is very friendly and accommodating. He always talked to us with a smile. The location is very nice, and the river view is beautiful. They also picked us up from where our Didi dropped us off and helped us carry our luggage. We really appreciate their warm service.

We weren’t sure how the room would be as there was only one photo in the listing for the loft room but took a chance given the rest of the photos and it was great! Right now (April 2026) there’s some scaffolding with green mesh on the river side of the building but our room was above it mostly so we could get a decent view! The room itself is wooden panels and feels nice and cosy - like a log cabin. It it’s chilly the AC also goes hotter. Clean with a good shower (although the blue curtain could do with being replaced) and fresh towels and bins cleaned daily. Friendly staff who helped us organise a trip. We’re English speakers and the trip was for Chinese tourists but it was insightful to see a side of domestic tourism most foreigners wouldn’t get a chance to see - so worth trying it! Our trip took us to the southern Great Wall which was cool, and the food was a feast. Great choice in Fenghuang if you want some river views without overpaying.

Thank you from me and my mum for taking care of us. From the moment I booked, we communicated on trip.com and then wechat, I had all my queries answered which would have been enough, but they kindly asked me how I would be arriving at Fenghuang. From there I was guided on every transport option, its description, ease and cost and which area to direct a taxi to, from where we would be met. I let them know when we got on a taxi from the train station and when we got off at the taxi drop off point, someone was stood waiting for us! Took our luggage and it was an easy 3 minute walk from the car, across Hongqiao bridge to the home stay. We were helped with our luggage too. When we saw the balcony view we were overjoyed! The hotel is located in the bend of the river so you get stunning views all around and one of the night time river performances is just infront of the balcony. Location is perfect. Can easily get around and it's in the main streets with all the hustle and bustle around. Room has everything you need. Service is impeccable, we were even helped in arranging a driver (special thanks to their driver) who took extra care of us. Anything we needed we could ask for on wechat and were responded to immediately. Discounted tickets for the boat and scenic spots too.
