Bed with a spring mattress that creased the back, interior room overlooking the hotel stairs, the only window above and above the bed without blackout curtains, which meant light shone directly into our eyes, making it impossible to rest, bathroom smelled rotten and there was visible dampness on the walls. I do not recommend this hotel.

La moqueta sucia. Los colchones se hunden. La alcachofa de la ducha estaba suelta. Íbamos con un bebé y la habitación que nos dieron era muy pequeña, ya que no nos podíamos a penas mover con el carro. La nevera no funcionaba, por lo que tuvimos que tirar la comida de nuestro bebé. Las almohadas y colchones de mala calidad. No recomiendo este hotel, y no tiene las estrellas que se merecen.

Figueira da Foz is not exactly my holiday destination. The Universal Boutique Hotel where I stayed is located in a quiet area, very nicely decorated and worth staying for a few days. The price wasn't too bad. The hotel is located in the newer part of the city, about 200m from the beach. The room was spacious, modern bathroom, with two large windows overlooking the street. The internet connection was optimal. The rooms, bathroom and public areas were clean. There was a quiet atmosphere in the hotel and the service (reception and cleaning staff) was friendly, helpful and all spoke English. Apart from sunbathing and long walks on the beach, there is, in my opinion, little to do. I was disappointed that there were so few cafes and restaurants, while there are so many hotels. But I was there at the beginning of spring, during the summer the situation is probably overcrowded I wouldn't come back for the city, but I would for the hotel.

We were booked in here as part of a cycling trip. Great lock up for the bikes close by. Lovely room with a balcony. Close to the beach & the heritage area. Adequate but unexciting breakfast. Hard bed & terrible pillows. Felt it was a bit mean charging one euro per coffee in your room!

Lovely modern hotel only one street back from the sea front. Figueira da Foz was very quiet when we visited. The hotel room was lovely with a side sea view from the balcony we were able to sit on which wraps around two sides of the hotel. The staff were professional. Breakfast was served in the basement with no windows but the buffet staff were very nice. The food was good with lots of cold choices but the hot food was the same each day and not particularly inviting. Tea making facilities inroom but no teaspoons. Water only provided on first day and had to pay €2.50 for small bottle which seemed a bit strange when cost of room is quite high. It was very clean in all areas and there was a pleasant lounge which we did not use.

The reception staff were so very welcoming when we arrived on our bikes, wet, dirty and exhausted. Their friendliness and helpfulness added so much to our delightful stay. The hotel had an old world charm and is steeped in history ( many photos and articles adorn the walls in public areas). Our bed was roomy, all very clean. A fridge and tea and coffee making facilities were all in our room. Shower over the bath was a bit tricky to get out of. The location is great.
