I waited 4 years to tailor my journey to include the Baillie Lodges and it was well worth it. I have traveled the world and stayed in luxury resorts but Silky Oaks is special. The food is justifiably Michelin quality and the staff is accommodating to all its customers. We stayed in premium treehouse and would highly recommend the same lodging to all who visit. As a nature lover, I was highly pleased. I identified over 15 different bird species by call and several insect varieties native only to this area. The variety of flora is fabulous! I recommend a walk with the head gardener and a visit to the herb garden to taste the local fruits and herbs. It’s s very hard to list all the benefits of this place and I am running out of space, but if ecology and attention to detail, luxury, a reasonable sense of adventure, fine wines and gourmet food are your interests, one must visit Silky Oaks.

My wife and I enjoyed our stay very much at this special resort north of Cairns. Each treetop room is a separate space to relax and enjoy the beauty of the rain forest and the relaxed atmosphere of comfort and service. The staff is focused, friendly and responsive and attuned to helping you to relax even from the first encounter. The location is well situated for enjoyable encounters with wildlife or a short drive to Port Douglas and access to the Great Barrier Reef. Breakfast and dinner bring a range of options and we found that they were quite accommodating with our choices and the quality was very good. Every evening we enjoyed the gin drink of the day in the bar and lounge. They were very creative and a wonderful way to unwind from busy days. We both took advantage of a spa experience and had excellent massages followed by a relaxing afternoon enjoying our hammock and deck to just relax. One third of the way in our journey it was nice to take advantage of the washers and dryers that were available to the guests. Special shout out to the wait staff who were so friendly and made our stay that much more enjoyable. A super shoutout to Ella (Ellodie like Melody) who each time brought joy and enthusiasm to each encounter.

We stayed here three nights and enjoyed every minute of it. The room was comfortable. We did not end up using the outdoor tub. The staff were amazing, friendly, professional and kind. The treats in the room were perfect. The food is great. We took advantage of the E bikes, which was fun and had the most incredible possibly best spa experience we’ve ever had and we have had a crazy amount of spa treatments everywhere. I was a little apprehensive about bugs and had no issues. I would recommend using the spray that they have in the room. I ended up with one mosquito bite.

We had some really amazing days at the Silky Oak Lodge! The service was perfect. The restaurant and lounge areas were outstanding. The food was excellent and the rooms were spacious and clean. The surrounding area of the property is beautiful! You have to swim in the river — it's refreshing and lovely. But the best thing about the hotel is the staff! They are impressive and professional! Thank you all for the amazing three days.

This resort is extremely relaxing and well designed! The rooms are comfortable with a great bed, mini bar, shower/bath tub, and hammock (on the deck). I loved the main lodge with the restaurant (open air) overlooking the river. The food was amazing (breakfast and dinner included, lunch is an additional fee) and the wine pairings were delightful. I appreciated how attentive, but non intrusive the service was. The spa was beautiful and my massage with Keshni was truly amazing! I appreciated the offerings of this property including the walking trails (well maintained) and morning yoga. Overall, a great stay and we look forward to coming back!

This place is amazing! If you ever wanted to feel like you are staying in a tree house, this place is for you! It’s so quiet and I felt like I was truly in the rain forest. It was so beautiful. The staff were attentive and approachable. The food was great, especially the dinners. I had a crayfish raviolo that was soooo good. Also had a pineapple creme brûlé. I loved the location and the hammock on the balcony. My only complaint is that we weren’t there longer.

Our welcome to this beautiful place was warm and happy. The staff were very attentive and always smiling. We were ushered to 2 chairs in a space overlooking the Mossman river next to the Treehouse restaurant and offered a glass of bubbles and some canapés while an explanation of the lodge and experiences were given. We felt like we were in a calm place. The general manager, Ben, came over and chatted before taking us to our beautiful room and showed us the features and layout. The room was incredible overlooking the river. The afternoon was spent reading in the hammock followed by an outdoor bath. I love the towels here, they are Bemboka brand. In each room there is a stocked mini bar and some snacks included in the rate. In the evening we headed into the main lodge for pre-dinner cocktail with the base being a different gin of the day and nibbles. The restaurant served amazing, tasty meals with a wonderful ambiance above the Mossman river. We spent the first day hiking and swimming at Fig Tree Rapids in the morning followed by the Backcountry Drift tour in the afternoon. The second day we hiked again to the Wave Rock to relax and swim for a couple of hours before settling down to read and swim at the resort pool while watching the Australian Brush Turkey roam around. The pool towels were large and thick and were readily available and always freshly laundered. The gin of the day on our last evening was the Baillies 9, one of our favourites. We have really enjoyed our stay here and hope to return again soon as it’s such a beautiful place in a serene environment. Thank you for having us!

Unbelievable place - beyond gorgeous, in the most magical spot surrounded by the mystical rainforest. We had an incredible 3 night stay here. If you're thinking about it - just do it - you will be blown away! The food is probably the best I think I've had literally anywhere. Service is second to none, the rooms are unbelievable. We are planning another trip back to celebrate a special occasion.

My favourite hotel in Australia, I've stayed here 3 times now and you guys just have the perfect blend of scenery, food, personal touches and beautiful nature.

Drove all the way out to Silky Oaks Lodge today only to be greeted by a locked barrier gate. Had to use the intercom only to be told sorry no admission as we are booked out. Then we heard her laughing after she believed she had hung up. Not like it was once upon a time where you had pleasant staff greeting you and you could pop in for drinks and food anytime. Sadly now trying to create a pretentious environment and extremely overpriced. Thala Beach Eco Lodge is where you should go so welcoming and stunning views.

Next to the Mossman River (Daintree National Park) the cabins are separated in a way that makes you feel like you have the rain forest to yourself. The open area dining/bar areas (Tree House and Marrdja Pavilion) overlook the river. Food choices are good and the nightly special cocktail is a treat – the bartender is “intense” in his craft and makes excellent cocktails.

Understated, yet beautiful luxury resort in a rainforest setting. We didn’t really get to take advantage of the river sports amenities (and the fitness center needs updating), but the spa, bar and treehouse restaurant were all fabulous. Individual cottages are a bit small, but well appointed and tasteful. We experienced unseasonable (heavy) rainfall during our stay, such that the bridge providing access to/from the resort flooded over, but the staff did a great job arranging four wheelers to safely traverse the high waters… and even arranged for a helicopter to ferry our group back after the water continued to rise. Needless to say, our group was extremely grateful.

From the moment we arrived at Silky Oaks Lodge, we felt at home. You are personally escorted to your private cabin and all the amenities (and there are SO MANY) are carefully explained by your host. You honestly feel as though you have left the rest of the world behind as you totally unwind and relax at this magnificent property. We had a Riverhouse cabin, and the views and sounds of the river are among the most relaxing I have ever experienced. The hammock was my afternoon retreat with a book and a snooze! The outdoor bathtub was so special - you truly felt as though you were bathing miles away, deep in the rainforest. I had an exquisite 2-hour spa treatment. Be certain to carve out some time for a spa treatment (or two). We experienced this magnificent property as part of an organized tour, but we quickly decided a return trip here on a future visit to Australia is a must. Ben, Glen and the entire team at Silky Oaks are the epitome of what exceptional service looks and feels like. Thank you for making this such a special visit!

Silky Oaks lodge is a piece of rainforest paradise with the absolute best team on the planet. This hotel is stunning, from the moment you drive in to the complex and are met at your car to the moment you leave, the team here make you feel that you are the most importantly people on the property. The main building is breathtaking with the restaurant overlooking the Mossman river. You are instantly taken to peaceful place, where your heart rate slows and your brain stops chattering and all you can hear are the sounds of the forest and the hum of nature. The pool is the most beautiful I have ever seen, half heated and with gentle waterfalls and uncrowded and private spaces to lounge and enjoy the exemplary service. Even the plastic glasses for use by the pool felt premium. The spa is another little gem with the most sublime services and we rounded off our treatments with a rainforest bath. Our lodge was spacious and the bed the most comfortable we have ever slept in. I spent one morning watching orange footed scrub fowl build a nest and then a bush turkey come along and fill it in! The food is a work of art from delightful a la carte breakfasts to the most creative and artistic dinners with wine pairings and attentive but unobtrusive service, from people from around the globe. Nothing was too much trouble and we were greeted by name and with a smile. We were there only three nights and filled our days with river drifting, Daintree twilight boat tours, spa treatments, walks on the property and paddle boarding by the river. I can highly recommend them all. Thank you Silky Oaks, I commend you and your fabulous team and must sign off as I am running out of superlatives!
