Galley Bay Resort & Spa

Location is the best part of the Galley Bay resort. If you want beautiful beaches and warm Caribbean waters this place is the best! Pros: 1 - Great beach and pool area. 2 - Clean rooms 3 - Pleasant staff Cons: 1 - Rooms need updating, my room was freshly painted as I was getting paint on my hands after using the bathroom sink. The sink counter is painted wood, no finished counter top. 2 - They say they stock the room refrigerator daily but I had to ask repeatedly for more soda, water and coffee. ( I don’t drink so didn’t care about alcohol, but that was lacking too) 3 - Food options limited during our stay, some restaurants closed some days altogether. I expected to be able to grab a meal or snack at any time, like other all inclusive resorts. Also, only saw 1 beach attendant taking drink orders 2 times during the week we stayed. If you advertise the service you should perform it better than that. 4 - Food average. You got the same meal weather you dined at the Sea Grape of made a reservation at either the Gauguin or Ismays, just presented differently. All in all, very disappointed with the food. 5 - Constant unpleasant smell of sewage like odor, especially on the lagoon side. Overall, 2.5 stars out of 5. I don’t know if the resort is understaffed or unmotivated to make any changes, which is too bad because it has a lot of potential, but for the money spent you can get a better deal staying at another resort on the island.

We just completed an eight night stay at Galley Bay. Our time there was absolutely wonderful. The beach was excellent, the food was awesome, and the staff was amazing to say the least. Some days we felt we had the resort all to ourselves which was perfect for us. It was the most relaxing time we have had on vacation. The beach and the sunset views are beautiful. We thoroughly enjoy our time there and look forward to a return visit. If you are looking for a clean, quiet, and peaceful resort with a great staff to accommodate your needs this is the place for you.

Beautiful location; impeccable staff and food was just magnificent! We came in a group of more than 100 people! We had fun! There are many restaurants and move around with a buggy! The location is the best so far! Kenya has been very helpful with luggage!!

Just returned from our 2nd stay in this beautiful resort and we will be returning. From the moment we arrived to a welcome drink the wonderful staff couldn't do enough for us. The rooms are beautiful and immaculately clean with balconies/ terraces front and back that step out on to the most gorgeous beach.This is just the place to come to relax and unwind, we loved all three restaurants and the beach grill, so much choice of beautifully cooked food, lots grown on the premises. The cocktails delicious and the quality of the evening bands couldn't be higher. The fabulous guys who run the water sports( sailing, kayaking, paddleboarding and snorkeling) ensure you are safe at all times, we thoroughly enjoyed our sailing adventures. Snorkeling gear in the rooms and fabulous vacuum flasks for iced water or your cocktails, such a thoughtful touch. Bonus for us,turtles hatching on the beach, amazing experience to see.Can't recommend this resort enough, we wouldn't want to stay anywhere else .

Gally Bay is a beautiful resort the staff were very helpful and nothing was too much trouble for them. Hubby had a problem with his egg came medium he likes soft. No problem they just done them again no questions asked. Amanda went the extra mile to ensure we celebrated our 41st anniversary in style we did all the restaurants our favourite was Gauguin was our favourite. The only real down side was the beach it was very steep and getting in and out of the sea was almost impossible my mobility isn’t good. Getting about was a breeze as all the staff who drove the buggies were amazing picking up and dropping off whenever we needed. We went low season so long trousers weren’t needed but my husband wore them at Ismays and Gauguin restaurants because we felt these were special.

We recently returned from our second visit to Galley Bay and it was just as beautiful as we remembered! Our deluxe beachfront room was clean and comfortable with plenty of wardrobe/storage space and had an amazing view of the beach and sea. Drifting off to sleep and waking to the sounds of the waves was heavenly. The restaurants were all excellent with a good variety of fresh and flavoursome food including vegetarian and vegan options. Ismays was fantastic and is worth the small supplement . As many others have said it is the wonderful staff that are the icing on the cake here - they are friendly, attentive and always willing to help make your holiday the best it can be. Thank you to them all, especially the ladies in the coffee shop who made my daily iced coffee and a shout out to Sandy G who went out of her way to make me a delicious bespoke blended expresso cocktail ! ❤️ We will definitely be back! (So sorry to hear of the devastation caused by storm Beryl at your sister resort of Palm Island)

This place is the perfect blend of consistency - feeling confident we know the quality we can count on- and continuous improvement even when we didn’t know it was possible. There is a reason that, like us, many guests return and return! Fantastic!!

We arrived at Galley Bay on May 31st and were greeted with rum punch. Check in was easy although our room wasn’t ready (early flight) we were taken to lunch by Alfred. He was super friendly and excited to welcome us to the island. He helped with our bags and came back to pick us up when our room was ready which was only about an hour. Rooms were very nice and clean. We got balloons for my birthday, cheese/fruit, & a bottle of wine. Our maid came every day. Only issue is we were only given 2 towels for the room. We had to ask multiple times for 4. We like to shower in the afternoon and after dinner. The air worked amazing in the rooms! No humidity or issues with it not working. Food was probably the best food we had at a resort. We have been to many resorts including sandals and found that this food was made with love. The BBQ lunch on Thursday is definitely a can’t miss! The drinks were strong and delicious! Only issue we came across at the restaurants were the bugs biting at night but the hotel can’t help that so bring bug spray! Service was good for an island. We are from NJ so everything is super fast and we didn’t feel like we had to wait long for our food or service. Beach and pool area were amazing. We went to yoga and Mackenzie listened to want we wanted to work on and she was very nice. We were taken out by Captain Sean and had the best time. Definitely recommend him. We took a walk through the vegetable and fruit garden with Ebony! She is so passionate about her job. We enjoyed her little tour and she even gave us some fresh pineapple. We would definitely go back to this resort. Everyone was super friendly and polite even the maintenance guys said hello.

Top notch resort, pristine setting with gorgeous well kept grounds with great helpful, friendly staff. Deluxe beachfront room, exquisite restaurants…an amazing experience all around…We will be back and be sure to spread the word about this gem!
