Most central location. You can go back to take a rest or toilet break after walking or shopping in Florence. Service is excellent. Only issue is that the room is small but nicely decorated.

The location is good, but the square downstairs is noisy. The room is nice and there are gifts. Suitable for family travel.

We stayed in a Junior Deluxe Suite (lowest level suite) for three nights in early January. The rooms were very well appointed with great layouts and felt very fresh. The service was truly exceptional -- front desk, concierge, bellmen, housekeeping – not a single weak spot. I can’t remember a better service experience at this price point. I would recommend it highly except for one caveat – the square it fronts was extremely noisy our first night with buskers/entertainers playing amplified music until around 1 am. The second night was better (but it was drizzling). The hotel has double paned windows but not the very best kind (I’d recommend they invest in a second set of interior windows which could be accommodated in the deep old window frames). We switched rooms to one in the back because of the noise and it was totally fine (you face an alley). The hotel was very gracious about our noise complaints and did everything they could including tightening up the window seals. So my four star rating is really an average – 5 stars for a room in the back and 3 for one in the front. I see there are varying opinions about the noise in other reviews so it may vary from day to day and person to person. I’d also note that the gym is excellent (for a European city hotel).

This was my second stay in the last 2 months. I cannot say enough good things about the hotel and its people. We took a taxi about 30 miles out of town to attend a wedding. When the wedding ended we were unable to get a taxi or find any transportation back. I called the hotel and Isam located a taxi and sent him to get us. We could not be more grateful. Daniel in the restaurant is excellent as well as the hostess. They are both so welcoming and do everything they can to make your experience a good one.

Stayed at the Hotel Savoy in Florence for 4 nights in June 2025. The hotel is beautiful and is located in an amazing spot. The staff was friendly from the minute we walked out of our cab to the time we left. The breakfast was great and the again the staff very happy and friendly. The only thing I would criticize was that the elevator was inoperable for 2 days and even though we were able to take the service elevator I believe the hotel should have given us some sort of discount on the rooms for 2 nights. I didnt ask but thought that was something that should have been done. All in all I highly recommend this hotel for your stay in Florence

We stayed from May 27-31. We booked through American Express Fine Hotels and Resorts. Fantastic hotel in the heart of Florence, literally 30 steps from the center of the city in the Republic Piazza. The area is filled on all sides with shops and amazing food. The hotel breakfast was included and permitted both a la carte items (try the scrambled eggs with ham and cheese) and the buffet. While not a huge selection, the service was impeccable and I never felt like we were shorted. As part of our package we we’re upgraded from the deluxe grand room to a Jr. suite. For Italian standards, the room was huge. The double sinks and huge bathroom including both a bathtub and walk-in shower were a delight. The walk in closet was nearly as big. The bed was very comfortable! Housekeeping was immaculate! Now to the service. From the door staff to the front desk staff to the housekeeping staff, all were spectacular. But the staff at Irene (in-house restaurant) really made the trip special. We spent every morning with them and they seem to take a personal responsibility of making every day start better! We were me with wine in the room. And biscottis and chocolate were delivered. Everything was top notch. It is expensive. But absolutely worth the price!! Thank you to every single person we encountered. We will be back and we wouldn’t consider staying anywhere else!!

My family just spent 1 week in The Savoy while celebrating my husband’s birthday and we had 4 rooms (1 suite and 3 superior rooms), we were upgraded in 1 room .. great and beautiful rooms, all of them ! We arrived and we had a birthday cake for my husband and everyday we received something special, either chocolates, biscottis.... lovely details. Very comfortable beds, pillows, great towels .. delicious fragance of their toiletries.. My daughter was sleeping with her 2 year old daughter and there were special slippers, cot… everything to make their stay happy and easy. Location is unbeatable in Piazza della Reppublica, walking distance to all the attractions and shopping. Don’t miss the breakfast which was delicious but with great and warm service and try to have dinner in their restaurant Irene, we had dinner 2 times there overlooking the piazza. Very good food and top notch service. We couldn’t have been happier during our stay… the concierge helped us booking restaurants for lunch and dinner beforehand and they were very well chosen. Warm reception, helpful, always greeting us by our names and with a smile…really special service and very well trained. We can’t wait to be back in Florence and in The Savoy. Thank you for a wonderful stay !!

The hotel facilities are absolutely terrific and the service is truly outstanding. From Camilla’s smile seating us each morning to Roberto assisting us with our daily plans the Savoy is truly a 5 star experience. Thank you all for making our stay so special.

We have just returned from a four night stay at this superb hotel so conveniently placed in the city centre - our large bedroom overlooking the piazza was very comfortable and quiet although overlooking the piazza - the newly refurbished and decorated 'Irene' restaurant and bar have been beautifully done - we ate in all nights - were well looked after and the food was delicious - what more can you ask for in a short break. From the moment we stepped into the lobby of the Savoy, last Friday, we were greeted with enthusiasm and warmth. Our bags were immediately swept away to be placed in our room. Once we were fully checked in the front desk were welcoming and willing to share information or answer any questions that we had. We stayed in room 412 and it was outstanding. I loved the well appointed space the only tiny detail that I would call out is the bathroom door and the closet door seem to be battling to share the same space. However, that is a minor detail. The hotel was centrally located. It was easy to get to the river as well as major sightseeing spots. And the breakfast, and hotel restaurant, was outstanding. The only service issue that we had was when we visited the newly opened bar and lounge. We were charged for a drink that was never delivered. The loquacious and enthusiastic bartender got distracted midway thru making it and then forgot that he didn’t deliver my cocktail. Fortunately, once we mentioned the error, the staff fixed it. I would happily stay here again! It was a great experience. Also there is one doorman, whose name I can’t recall, and who always wore a cap and a big smile. He was beyond courteous. Each time I returned to the Hotel, I received the warmest greeting. Hospitality starts before you cross the threshold.

What a beautiful hotel in the best location. Fabulous attentive staff who made our stay very special. If you’re looking to stay in Florence can’t recommend it enough. We had room 519 which had recently been refurbished in stylish Pucci Gorgeous

We had an absolutely wonderful experience at Hotel Savoy for three nights. Not only is it one of the most beautiful hotels I have stayed, it is without a doubt, the best service I have experienced. I wish I could remember everyone’s names to recognize individually. The concierge team was so helpful with nightly dinner reservations, and the whole staff makes you feel like you are at home rather than 5k miles away. I look forward to recommending this hotel to anyone we know traveling to Florence.

We stayed at Hotel Savoy for three nights. I was traveling with my two teenage daughters. The service was excellent from the hotel recommendations for local not overhyped tourist traps to helping us navigate museum tickets etc. It’s rare that a hotel remembers guests by their names so that was a nice touch every time we returned to the hotel after long days sightseeing. The rooms were well appointed with everything one could need. I was so happy that they carried the Irene Forte products again in this hotel as well as the Hotel de Ville in Rome. It was just too bad that they didn’t offer the products for sale at the spa. One of our favorite activities was going to make your own perfume at Aqua Flor. I think the only drawback for us would be the hotel restaurant was closed for renovation but it wasn’t a problem as we could choose breakfast at Gilli cafe or in room service both were amazing. So no complaints here. If I were to return to Florence I would definitely choose the Savoy again.

It is always a pleasure to stay in this wonderful hotel. The location is unbeatable and the team is really nice. Minor disappointment - their restaurant is currently closed for refurbishment (I was told it will reopen next month) But I didn’t mind. Plenty of great options just around the corner.
