Ok, to be fair the front desk and breakfast staff were very nice & tried to be helpful. That being said, the advertised "English spoken", was non-existent. The surrounding area feels unsafe at night with groups drinking on the front steps and homeless sleeping not far away. There is a bar very close also, No security person stationed in the lobby in which the doors remain wide open, The elevators are not key coded so anybody can "explore" every floor. Simply a bad vibe throughout the property. The rooms have bottles of pump soap/shampoo that previous guest had access to; nothing sealed for individual use. Unsanitary at best. Need another towel? "Your room has two. If you need another for the pool (none there), or a shower there will be an extra charge." Unheard of! Charging for pool towels! The rooms are noisy. Dogs not just barking but howling & loud motorcycles revving it up at 1230AM can be heard quite clearly. The windows do indeed have blackout curtains but no inner shear curtains so when they are open the apartments just outside can see right into your bedroom. Workers woke us up at 7AM scraping the paint off the walls in the next room by our bed and just carrying on in loud fashion. Oh, no hot water either, lukewarm at best. This was no fluke as I checked with another American who stayed about 3 weeks before we did. No phones in the room. Got a problem ? Well, you'd better have "Was-App" and speak/read Spanish because that's it folks! If they answer at all because they didn't for me. Here's a good tip though: Just over the highway there is a much better option for the same $ or even a bit less. Go there and you'll be/feel much more secure and enjoy comfort with English speakers available. Sonesta!
