Have visited this hotel before, knowing how comfortable we were we booked another visit. Our stay was enjoyable, the meal was good and the pleasant drink in the bar made our visit. Will return again, probably in the new year, when the weather is warmer

The food is really outstanding! Every meal we had was full of flavor and cooked to perfection. Hands down, some of the most delicious food they have served lately! They utilize only the freshest ingredients and ensure that each dish is properly prepared. I am still fantasizing about my lunch at "Wards" Each mouthful was delicious, and the presentation just blew me away. The staff went above and beyond to make the dining experience memorable. They were attentive without being intrusive.

This has to have been the worst and dirtiest hotel I have ever stayed in. Rooms not cleaned, with no apologies. Beer lines in the bar not cleaned and staff selling cloudy beer. Staff untrained in all aspects of hotel hygiene. Managerial Father and Son operation with no idea of running a hotel.

After reading the reviews this was a really disappointing experience. Our double room was small and cramped (comfortable bed though) - the en suite was laughable - a small shower cabin, small sink and toilet separated from the bed by a sliding door. The meal we had in the evening was just about ok. The only plus point was the owner, who was friendly (from Mauritius) and who arranged for us to have some fresh fruit for our breakfast. We will not go back

I had my wedding here and I can honestly say that everyone and everything was amazing, they went above and beyond, the food was out of this world and catered for everyone's needs. Nothing was too much trouble. I have seen quite a few people put this hotel down but if your expecting a 5 star hotel then go stay in 1, this is a family run business, the building is old so yes some things do need abit of tlc but it is still an amazing place. Thank you so much

How bad can a place be? We booked for two nights and stayed for two minutes. When we booked we were advised that payment was on arrival but straight away after we booked, our credit card number was used to take full payment. No receipt was issued, we only knew because we saw the bank statement. On arrival the car park was scruffy, with rubbish piled in the corners. We advanced towards the main entrance through an archway so covered with climbing plant we had to tear some away so we didn’t trip over. At the front door were a dead plant in a rusty hanging basket and an elderly Christmas tree. The door, which was locked, had chipped paint and sections missing altogether. After rattling the door it was opened and we were shown into the bar area where a “colleague “ checked us in. We were given a key but no information at all about the hotel. We had to ask where our room was. On arriving upstairs through a dingy corridor we opened the door to the delights of our bedroom. A bed with scratches and carving on the base, blinds hanging at a jaunty angle and windows that did not fasten properly. We left but there was no one in the hotel even to take back our key. Do not believe the good reviews for this hotel. They are either sent by friends of the owner or by people who’s standards and expectations are extremely low

Watch four in a bed and you wouldn’t go near there if it was the last place on earth. Vile couple who own it dishonest and cheats !!!! Give it a wide berth these people tried to sabotage the other contestants in order to win shameful pair they don’t deserve anyone to come to their hotel to line their pockets.
