This is a small hotel, a bit dated, but the room was very spacious and clean, and the location was excellent 👍. The breakfast was quite simple, but all the standard amenities were available. It's less than a 10-minute walk to the public beach 🏖️. We stayed here before our cruise, and it was very convenient. Recommended!

The hotel is well located, has a good breakfast, spacious rooms, and excellent toiletries. The decor and presentation of the hotel could be improved.

Everything was great, but what REALLY stood out was a gentleman by the name of Scott who was taking care of the morning buffet. He was a burst of sunshine that made an ordinary buffet a great experience. He was constantly cleaning and yet greeting everyone and having great conversations and serving consistantly. It would benefit every establishment if we had more people like him in the serving industry.

Where do I start? 3 days of absolutely no internet connection. The room was not very clean to start. The corridors are absolutely filthy. The carpets should have been replaced 10 years ago. It is obvious that they have not been cleaned / shampooed in many years. One elevator was broken (and looking at the sign, its probably broken for years). The other elevator works but is the slowest elevator I have ever encountered. Furthermore it is very choppy as it stops so likely long overdue for service. You get this uneasy feeling of getting stuck in the elevator any minute. Hot water was insufficient. The toilet barely flushes , if you don't hold the lever for a very long time it does not flush at all. It costs $200 to replace the entire toilet alas, they keep the malfunctioning toilet in place. The AC unit sounds like a jet plane making it really hard to fall asleep. This also should have been replaced years ago. The towels are of low quality and they smelled bad. To add insult to injury. I requested a late checkout to noon so that I can attend the conference and take my bag after the conference and they said no (the male employee in the morning wearing earrings is belligerent in his attitude). So I had to miss out on an important presentation so I can return and retrieve my bag.

We did enjoy our one night stay at this Best Western after our cruise ended. The hotel is nice. It does need a little TLC - maybe a little freshening up. I enjoyed the small pool area, might not be perfect if you have kids. There is quite a bit if flaking white paint around the pool that should be addressed. We didn't use the breakfast as we left too early in the am. We did have lunch at the bar area and that was very good. It took a little bit of time, but the food was fresh and hot. It is a short walk down to the marina area for a nice meal and the beach is close. I was disappointed in the early check-in fee. I felt like it wasn't necessary. The location charges enough for the actual room, I was made aware and it wasn't a surprise but I think it is not necessary. If the room is ready, why do we have to pay to enter early? Anyway, I would recommend and would definitely stay when we return to the area.

This place is pretty awesome. It’s the southern part of Fort Lauderdale. So you have to walk to Los olas. Or take a cab. Food and bar is avaible only on the weekends but breakfast is everyday. It’s not right on the beach you will have to walk and get your pool towels early they go fast!

Stayed here after a cruise, we have stayed here before and it was fine, room 520. Comfy bed and very large shower. Breakfast was OK, nothing special but adequate, but not impressed that plates/cups/utensils were all disposables...... Pool area is nice and staff were very helpful, special thanks to Robert at check in and the lady who arranged the taxi for us. On the minus side the lifts are very slow and only 1 was working. The carpet in the 5th floor corridor was filthy, apparently refurbishments planned for later this year. We would stay here again, it was good value and over 100usd cheaper than a similar hotel in SE 17 STREET....very convenient for cruise port and 2 minutes from the beach,

We stayed during a busy spring break weekend. Room was quiet and we did not hear any of the outside noise. All the staff we talked with were very friendly. The facility has the potential to be nice but needs overall maintenance upkeep. We were going to eat at the hotel restaurant but the wait for food would be an hour. We walked north along the beach to get dinner from a nearby restaurant. The area around the hotel had at least a dozen buns, trash, and street smelled of urine. Overall we would not stay here again unless the city cleaned the area and management worked on the overall upkeep of the property.

this past week we visited the best western. we were there for 5 days and 4 nights. it was our 50th anniversary trip and they kindly upgraded our room. i did not ask for that but.... i want to shout out to the employees there. their bosses need to know how great they are. unfortunately i did not get all the names but trust me---they all were pleasant and welcoming and always willing to help. jasper at the front desk was extremely helpful along with the lady---sorry--can't remember her name. we got so much info out of them to help make our stay great. jasper let us know how we could get rides free of charge(do tip) since the trolley was discontinued. also some restaurant tips etc. christina at the bar was awesome---hooked up my phone to the alexa so i could play some tunes. great bartender too. there were about 40 kids from denmark that were playing soccer--Highschool or college--- and we played their music too. lots of fun at the bar that night. surprised they even bothered with us as we are 73 and 83. garcia and yves---the friendly breakfast ladies were really great---always keeping the food filled. btw--breakfast was good. breakfast included in the price. our room was spotlessly cleaned with plenty of towels, toiletries. bed was so comfy, plenty of closet space, tv, microwave, refrig, kuerig coffeemaker, cups, balcony, plenty of lights, full length mirror, great water pressure---i can go on and on. there is a pool and towels provided and on the second floor a sun balcony and small workout room. the beach was steps away and across the street about a block down was a marina and marina village with restaurants and bar. we went on the river cruise which was relaxing and informative. we were about a 13 minute walk from where all the springbreakers, shops, bars were. i went down there to get my souvys----but it was nice to be in a quiet area at night. there are a few restaurants in hotels next door to the bw but we didn't try them. they have a restaurant in the bw and we ate there a couple of meals. loved the chicken avocado sandwich. the hotel was clean---they kept the bathrooms up etc def would stay here again.

Decent location, good beach access. Staff was friendly. This property is worn out. Needs a major renervation. The place is primarily for one-night cruise layover travelers. The front desk did not make us aware that the bar served food when we inquired about food nearby. The bar food was fair but extremely slow. Apparently, they can only cook one order at a time. I had been a faithful Best Western customer. This last experience has me rethinking that.

Stayed one night before our cruise. We booked 2 rooms, one room was ready early which we’re so appreciative of after a long drive from Canada. Check in was good, the rooms smelled a bit musty. The view was not the greatest but the beach was impeccable. Unfortunately it was bad weather when we went but I’d go back again for the beach alone. The beds were very comfortable and the room seemed very clean. We ate dinner at the hotel, was pretty overpriced and mediocre. My daughter didn’t like it at all. Breakfast was good but so packed, we almost didn’t get a table and a lot of people were just taking it back to their room due to lack of seating. The pool looked nice, I’m assuming it’s heated as I saw people swimming despite the cold. If we had better weather I’m sure I would have loved my stay, nice beach, nice pool, bar and restaurant onsite. The staff were 10/10 so friendly and courteous. I’d come back if staying in Fort Lauderdale again.

- Great discovery in Fort Lauderdale. We were not sure where to stay in the Miami and surrounding areas, and this hotel turned out to be a very good choice. - It is not a modern hotel, but it was perfect for what we were looking for. - Located in a quiet area, which we really appreciated. - Pleasant rooms with a terrace; ours had pool views. - Swimming pool with quite extended opening hours. - Varied and generous breakfast, with some items changing daily. - Walking distance to the beach, which is a big plus. - Parking available in the same building (paid). - We didn’t find many restaurants nearby. - Bathroom was a bit old and small, but not a major issue. Without a doubt, if we return to the area, we would stay here agai

I am unsure where to begin, as our experience was disappointing from the moment we arrived. The entrance was confusing and felt more like a service or back entrance rather than a proper hotel lobby. While the staff was pleasant, the condition of the property quickly became concerning. Upon reaching the fifth floor, the carpets were visibly dirty. The room itself was in very poor condition, dust was literally hanging from the ceiling above the bed. The bathroom, which had broken and moldy tiles, a rusty bathtub, and a toilet where water was actually yellow, we thought it had urine in it. Given that the room rate was approximately $300 per night—and we had booked two rooms due to high demand from multiple cruise departures—the condition was unacceptable. The overall quality of the hotel felt more comparable to a budget motel with interior corridors rather than a hotel at this price point. Additional issues included inconsistent hot water that required the faucet to be turned fully hot, a non-functioning air conditioner in my daughter’s room, and unreliable Wi-Fi service. Based on our experience, I am genuinely surprised by the number of five-star reviews, as they do not accurately reflect the condition of the property. This creates a misleading impression for potential guests. Based on reviews, it felt like I was in the twilight zone.
