Ocean Reef Hotel

During our trip through Florida, we had the pleasure of staying one night at the Ocean Reef Hotel, and it was truly a great experience. Upon arrival, we found the reception closed, but it wasn’t long before a very friendly lady came to assist us with check-in. She had just gone out to grab a bite to eat, which is completely understandable – everyone needs food! Once we got to our hotel room, we were pleased to find it clean, well-maintained, and above average in size. Although there were a few minor maintenance issues, what mattered most was that the beds were extremely comfortable and everything was spotless. After checking in, we went out for a meal, but upon returning, we discovered that the parking lot was nearly full, making it difficult to find a spot. Without even needing to ask, a very helpful staff member on the night shift immediately resolved the issue by assigning us a great parking space near the entrance. This thoughtful service made a huge difference. Throughout the night, this gentleman also conducted a round of checks, which gave us a great sense of security. The hotel itself was quiet, and we had a restful night's sleep. The bathroom facilities, including the toilet and shower, were also impeccably clean. In the morning, when we checked out, the same lady who helped us with check-in was there again, and once more, we were greeted with kindness and a friendly smile. This hotel is definitely a place I would return to during a Florida road trip. I highly recommend it and want to thank the staff for their excellent care. It’s absolutely a place to revisit.

It’s a great location but the rooms are very old feeing. It’s infested with cockroaches and the woman at the fent desk (black hair heavy set ) is the owner and she’s always extorting money out of people .. online you can book a room for $85 but u go to her in person she’s charging u $130 and if you check in early she wants $30 extra oh and I’m not checking into my room for 2 hours yet , use the toilet and it floods out my room and she charged me $50. But I’m the one who had to sit around HALF OF FHE DAY WIRH PISS WATER ALL OVER MY FLOORS and the maintenance man coming in and out for 3 hours . I should have been compensated for thr 5 hours of ******** but of course she ain’t gonna cough uo on no money. Anyways it’s straight and she takes cash

Dirty floors, dirty bathroom, hair everywhere and loud. Only one good thing to say about it is the location.

Bathroom had dirty floors and corners. Beds were nice. Walk to the beach was 25 minutes as most beach is gated off by large hotels.

Does not look like the pictures on line rooms are very out dated safe didnt work and bathroom was moldy smell. Staff were friendly but i wouldnt recommend anyone staying here.

After checking in I called ******* to have the balance of my reservation canceled. They said they needed to check with the hotel. The hotel refused I was put in a room right outside the elevator. Everyone who got on and off the elevator could look into my room, the room also stunk like smoke, even though it was supposed to be a non-smoking room. The hotel was kind enough to move me to another room, which was slightly better. The hotel is old rundown dirty, and I contacted ******* again asking them to take this property off their listings because it’s disgusting. This hotel wasn’t even worth $50 a night.

Best betting I've slept in a hotel in a very long time. Staff with great parking small but I wasn't driving great proximity of stores and dining. We'll definitely stay here again

No one went into the pool including us so I cannot rate it. Air condition was so loud we had to turn TV on 32 to hear it. There was a party outside our door from 310 am till 440am. Never get a room right across from the elevator.

I stayed at the Ocean Reef Hotel from Feb 13 to Feb 14, and the highlight of the stay was definitely the location. It’s close to the beach, restaurants, and everything you’d want easy access to while in Fort Lauderdale. Very convenient and walkable. The room itself was comfortable enough, but it could use some maintenance and updates. A few fixtures and finishes showed signs of wear, and refreshing these would really improve the overall guest experience. Despite that, the staff were pleasant, the price was reasonable, and the location made the stay worthwhile. With some room improvements, this property could be an even stronger option for future visits.
