I don't even know where to begin.. This city (Fortaleza) charges you $50.00 for any hotel practically and has some of the most unsanitary establishment and rooms I've come across.
Black mold and filth in our bedroom and bedroom mirror, dirty appearance overall for the room, unkept hallway with filth built up, and as for the lobby, a HUGE amount of black mold all over the mirrors on the second floor (which is visible when walking into the entrance).
The manager barely agreed to a refund, wasted our time after 3 flights and having not slept all night due to trying to find some place to stay that wasn't robbing us, and then proceeded to lie and kept our data we wrote down!
This hotel needs sued and closed indefinitely.
They didn't care about how many issues they caused us in the slightest and I'm in shock at how many people (including business men) walked in to rent rooms at this hotel when there was so much mold visible when first walking in.. It has to be because this is a third world country as Brazilians allow far more corruption than I've ever seen Americans allow for such aspects of sanitary conditions.
We are still trying to get a full refund as we received around $182 when we paid $220 or so and that's not even mentioning the $30 fee they charged to let us check in a couple hours early (as we hadn't slept for over a day) that they still never refunded.
I DO NOT recommend Hotel da Villa nor Fortaleza unless you love spending in an extremely poor and dangerous city
