Stayed one night on returning to Cherbourg for ferry to UK. Excellent value for money. Rooms and public areas clean and staff friendly and helpful. Buffet breakfast basic but adequate for price around 10€. Hotel central and all sites walkable. Places to eat locally and close to hotel.

We stayed for a night on our motorcycle holiday, the owners were very helpful and let us park our bike in an alley at the back of the hotel. Breakfast was reasonably good at 9 euros pp. The room we had though was pretty basic, the shower was over a bath with antiquated taps mixing in to it which proved difficult to get the temperature correct, shower screen had a gap between it and the bath which leaked water on to the bathroom floor making it dangerously slippery. Delightful people but I'm afraid the hotel is in a bit of a time warp and needs some updating.

We loved the Balzac Hotel! The location is in the center of the Old Town, the staff were extremely helpful, the breakfast was lovely, and the room was clean and comfortable.

Accueil agréable hôtel propre et calme. Un petit souci de " panneau de douche" signalé le lendemain matin. Bon petit-déjeuner

La chambre donnant sur la cour est au calme. Le personnel est aimable . Mais il faut éviter de séjourner dans cet hôtel quand y séjourne un groupe de cyclistes : rentrer à minuit, continuer bruyamment la conversation et les rires dans le couloir , faire de même dans la salle du petit-déjeuner le lendemain matin, ne leur pose aucun problème !

Excellent accueil Petit coup de fil sur la route, hôtel booké dans la minute et un accueil extra. Une courette permet d'abriter la moto, c'est en plein centre ville et très rassurant. Chambre nickel au charme rétro comme l'hôtel. Un voyage spatio-temporel

Ai séjourné au Balzac car ne trouvais aucune disponibilité dans les autres hotels de Fougères . Finalement j’en suis ravi, un rapport qualité prix top, un logement confortable et propre, un accueil par le propriétaire extrêmement chaleureux. Bien sûr ce n’est pal l’étendue des services offerts par les 3/4 étoiles mais cela reste très satsfaisant.
