My one-night stay was marred by the worst sound proofing I’ve ever encountered in a hotel. We were in a connecting room, and could hear every noise from next door as if it was in our room. Noise from the corridor was also bad. For what seems to be a new build hotel there were quite a few defects: the sound proofing, the bathroom door wouldn’t close properly, there were gaps in the main and connecting door frames letting light in. It’s clearly not the fault of the staff or management but it smacked of poor quality build (as did other signs of damage to the fabric of the building such as cracks in the exterior wall) and did impact our stay. That said, it’s a really nice hotel in many ways. There were so many positives about my stay: great service from staff, really good breakfast, excellent outdoor swimming pools. If it wasn’t for the noise and light issues I’d have given it five stars.
