Le Méridien Frankfurt

Frankfurt Hauptbahnhof Frankfurt|0.22km from Jade Magic Wok
We stayed here for one night before we flew out of Frankfurt home to the U.S. I picked it because it was right across the street from the train station (or so someone told me). It's technically not ”right across the street.” You need to cross the street and walk maybe a block, turn left and it's right there, just in case you're like us and dragging luggage with you. There are also taxis that just sit outside the hotel if you ever need one. We are also Bonvoy members and I had enough points so that I could pay cash and points for this hotel. I reserved a junior suite because we needed a room that could accommodate us and our 12-year-old daughter. It is surprisingly difficult to find this in Europe. I called the hotel when I booked the room maybe a month or two in advance to make sure that the junior suite could indeed accommodate us and I was told it would (the pictures of this room on the Bonvoy website are not clear--where exactly in the room is the extra bed? There isn't one. It's a rollaway. This is why I called). When we arrived, there was some confusion or a problem with getting our room with an extra bed, and that's when I reminded them that I specifically called the hotel and asked if such a room could accommodate us and I was told yes. Whatever the problem was, they got it sorted out and we had a rollaway delivered to our room when we got up there. My suggestion is that if you need an extra bed(s) for your kids, call them the day before you arrive to (re)confirm that there will be a rollaway and/or the room you reserved will indeed accommodate your family. The junior suite is not very big, but it was fine for the three of us for one night. It's true that the hotel is not in the nicest area, but you can walk to the Rhine and restaurants. If I were staying more than one night and didn't have to fly out early the next morning, I would have stayed farther in town. The bed was very comfortable. I thought the breakfast was good--at least it was a lot better than the breakfast at the other hotel where we stayed before coming to Frankfurt, lol. The eggs were not rubbery and overcooked, and the food selection was just better overall.

I was here for 1 night on a quick business trip through Frankfurt. The location from the main train station was my initial reason to stay here, and it is very close - just an extra block away from the Le Meridien. Easy walk with luggage from Frankfurt (Main) Hauptbahnhof to both hotels. Roomers is very trendy and non-discrete. So much so I guess I was not dressed 'trendy' enough for the door person to help open for me while rolling my luggage into. But I digress. The staff I interacted with were all very nice and friendly, including the front desk and restaurant. I did not have an opportunity to try the bar on this stay. Why I gave this 2-stars is for the room... I was ”upgraded” to a ”quieter room” with my Elite Status, which I appreciated upon check-in. The room itself was fine with very dark interiors and roomy enough for 2 people. There was a place for luggage, desk area and comfortable bed. The bathroom was a good size with plenty of sink space and large shower. There were, however, no USB ports or easily accessible plugs to charge your phone at bedside without moving furniture around. And why I will not stay here ever again is the lack of sleep from the thumping music until 3:30AM in this upgraded ”quiet wing of the hotel”, as well as a very warm room temperature that never seemed to cool down all night. The thermostat said 22, but there was never any cool air coming out so I doubt the A/C was working. And the bass from the music was so strong it was making items on the desk move and create noise until 330AM. Waking up for an 8AM meeting with little sleep, and having to get dressed in a very warm room was not enjoyable. The hallway and lobby were cooler than inside my room. I wanted to like this place, but quality sleep is important to me. So I will try another hotel next visit.

Sofitel Frankfurt Opera

My husband and I are still staying here at this hotel while we visit family all week and we won't be staying here again. Our room has two TV's in it, both of which constantly turn off and restart, or just freeze on a black screen. We asked for help and nothing happened. The weirdest thing is that there are absolutely no movies available to purchase and no capabilities for streaming. Last night we watched a movie in bed on my laptop like we were in college! The TV is not our main priority on our trip, but we were looking forward to watching stuff together in the room on our vacation. Instead we get a choice of CNN, BBC, CNBC, or Bloomberg. I've stayed in motels with movies available to purchase! Just felt really weird to be paying for 6 nights thousands of dollars and no options and NO plugs for charging by the bed. Olivier and Dominick are awesome and thank goodness for them! Oh, and when you arrive with your car there usually is no valet outside...both times we didn't want to leave our car outside unattended but no one came out so we had to go in. My final thing....I had a headache and they didn't have anything, my husband had to walk to the pharmacy. We aren't too lazy to walk but when you are staying at a so-called 5 star hotel and you don't have headache medicine, no streaming capabilities or media selections...Not worth the money! Special shoutout to Olivier and Dominick who are AWESOME!!!

JW Marriott Hotel Frankfurt

Frankfurt City Centre (Old Town) Frankfurt|1.29km from Jade Magic Wok
I have been staying at this hotel for more than 3 months now and was more than excited after hearing a JW Marriott would open in Frankfurt (also the first one in Germany at that time). After living in hotels in Frankfurt for more than 3 years, I knew that staying at the JW Marriott would be a different story as it provides beautiful skyline views (sunset towards the skyline and sunrise on the other side towards the Taunus) and is as central as it gets. As an ambassador elite I was always upgraded to a suite, mostly the skyline suite because nothings beats this view - see pictures attached. Even though the hotel may need some renovations in some parts, it still provides all the necessities you can think of. The skyline suites include an amazing bathtub, big mirrors, seating area and the unique skyline view which you can be seen from the bed when waking up or going to sleep. The staff is very attentive, extremely friendly and is trying to make the best out of your stay. Thomas from the front desk, Mr Nickol, the girls at breakfast and the two guys there as well are extremely friendly and highly trained professionals. As the hotel does not provide an executive lounge at this point, Elite members get a free breakfast with an la carte dining (recommendation: chef‘s choice) and lots of varieties at the breakfast buffet. For someone like me who wants to stay fit during travels, the JW Marriott Frankfurt has a collaboration with the Fitness First My Zeil meaning you can access a fully equipped gym when staying here and not just a treadmill or 5kg weights - one of the biggest plus of this hotel. Staying at Marriott hotels full time for the last 6 years, I can really see the differences. Unfortunately that hotel life comes to an end now, but the JW Marriott couldn’t have been a better ending to that hotel life. THANK YOU TEAM. This hotel is highly recommended if you want a special treat, the most central location and the full Frankfurt skyline experience.

Frankfurt Hauptbahnhof Frankfurt|0.08km from Jade Magic Wok
This hotel should be avoided for just one reason: the bald man who is in charge of the reception! Unwelcoming, not service-minded, arrogant and totally unprofessional. We arrived tired after a complicated car trip and we were burdened by the continuous difficulties caused by the lack of cooperation of that receptionist. Indications about the garage where objectively complicated and should have be given with calm and clearness not mumbling words in a hurry as he was on the point to leave his desk. 'Where is the garage? ” His answer :” Behind the hotel ”! Behind where? Is it signed with the name of hotel? etc etc: one was forced to struggle for having the exhaustive information needed. And mind: the hotel is in a bad dangerous area, the central station, very messy and chaotic! When we finally got our  room we realized that it was smaller than the one we reserved for 2 days:17 sq. meters instead of 22sq. meters and in a cul de sac with a noisy engine outside the window spitting bad smell so that the bed linen was smelly. The worst room of the entire hotel! Too tired to ask for a change (also because the reception was always empty, with the only misleading written notice saying: I will be back at 6pm,  no matter what time it was!), the next day at 6:30P re-entering the hotel,  reception always empty,  we phoned to the man who after 10 minutes arrived,  and refused to change our room inventing sheer lies like: the hotel is full,  or that bigger rooms are for families. After 30 minutes I met a young couple who was just given a big room,  the 204!! So to be clear: the hotel was half empty!,  and our stipulated contract was clear!   Had the man something particular against 2 white men sharing a room? It could be! but then this would be a very serious offense!  But I was witness of his unkindness and lack of professionality also with a woman client asking information about the garage,  he kept on saying: 'the garage is full,  I don't know anything about other parking possibilities”, with the same grim annoyed look that meant:' do not disturb me anymore! ”!  For maybe 4 times I was back and forth at the reception because the card did not open the door! That caused me anxiety and stress and for that same sloppy attitude not willing to give information I was left alone looking for a spoon to use in the room and banged my head in a glass door, injuring my eyebrow with lot of spilled blood! When you ask for a spoon to a receptionist,  would it not be his duty to give it to you,  instead of leaving you alone looking around an unfamiliar place? Can MK, a hotel chain, tolerate its clients are treated unjustly and cheated about  what they paid for because the receptionist does not want to work or has mental problems? Last consideration: if an employee can behave this way,  whether he is deranged or he is sure that no one can fire him, the bottom line anyway is that MK's client is left in the hand of a petty bully. If MK is a serious company we should be total

Frankfurt Hauptbahnhof
Location: Central Station is left to go left at an intersection, two or three minutes walk, the location is great. The surrounding hotel is a red light district, but it is safe and there are no strange people. Facilities: The space for the six-person room is quite large and a bit noisy. The sheets are removed by themselves. Cleanliness is a bit low, it is recommended to bring your own sleeping bag. The bathroom is great, this time with slippers and bath amenities. Lobby: Free hot water hot coffee throughout the day. There is a seating area on the first floor where you can sit and chat. The front desk is very welcoming. 6 to 8 o'clock every night is happy hour, the store will have a free pizza for everyone. Buy one get one free for the whole drink and order a cocktail of 5.5 Euro. Breakfast: A breakfast for three consecutive nights. There are bread ham and a variety of sauces, and you can make homemade sandwiches. There are also yoghurt and a variety of nut cereals, which can be made into a yogurt bowl. Although 28 euros and 2 euros tax per night is still very expensive, in such a location, it is cheaper in the peers.

A clean hotel with a good location near the station. Our room was on the 6th floor and thus we had a great view of the Skyline. The room was clean and adequately large. The station environment ok, but we were just sleeping there.

It is very convenient to leave a location. I just don't understand why every passenger staying must give a tip of 2 Euro per night. Is the tip not free?

Location is perfect. Price is affordable. But with the 4* stars title, it should be more equipped. The fan does not work and there is no air condition.

The location of the hotel is excellent, it is just 4 min walking from the main train station. The person at the reception when I arrived at the evening was very nice and freindly but the guy which was at the reception when I checked out very early at 6:30 am was kind of wired, he put two big dogs infront of the main door and asked me to leave the hotel from the employers door and there was a homeless guy sitting infront of that door, plus the guy was like wanna say go out indirectly so, he was kinda of rude and he just wanna finish talking and I wanted to leave my bad at the reception and he just took it quickly snd gave me the number. This guy was the only negative thing.
