Good location. Can do cooking at the room and all the cooking necessary are available. Parking just in front of the room and easily load and unload your bags.

The motel is situated in a quiet corner with private car park and close to the restaurants and tour booking centers. The room is clean and comfortable but small and without stove.

The hotel is right on the main road of the town, easy to find, with plenty of parking spaces. The hotel has a front desk, and since we had dinner, we needed to check in by ourselves, which was also very convenient. The room was large, heated, and very comfortable.

Very good motel, easy to get in and out, clean and comfortable, and has a simple kitchen! The town is not big, but the rooms are big enough. It’s very convenient for shopping and traveling to see glaciers, and it’s a great review! Facilities: good Health: good Good environment good service

The room is clean and comfortable, but it's a bit far from the helicopter ride, about half an hour's drive. If you take the earliest helicopter flight, consider getting up early.

Superb place to stay. 3rd visit for us. Each time...its been clean cosy and comfortable. Spacious units, and each has a handy kitchen facility. Very cool was to hear the sounds of Kiwi and Kea early in the morning. Would absolutely stay here again.

We booked a room with a spa bathtub and it had a superb view from the private little deck. It was good to have a kitchenette to prep food as dining like most of the South Island is expensive. The housekeeping was of a high standard. The room had parking at the door. The quality of the bed and linen was good., and we enjoued the streaming service. My mum and I loved sitting with a cup of tea on the deck watching delightful birds feeding at the motel's garden flowers while immersed in the stunning mountain view. The motel is conveniently located as only 1 block from the main street. A number of hiking trails start nearby. We'd definitely stay again.

Beautiful self contained room, just few metres off main street. Spacious living and bathroom. Well equipped kitchenette. Great heating, even in bathroom with 3 in 1 lighting, heating, fan. Heated towel rail. Comfortable beds and seating.

A stunning modern studio room with a spa bath. Small outside terrace with Mountain View. Everything we needed and easy walk to small local town which suited us perfectly. Extra-large bed exceptionally comfortable. Very tight vehicle through-fare because of limited parking space outside rooms and slightly thoughtless parkers. Exceptional local scenery driving to Fran’s Joseph and onward down to Wanaka.

Check-in was quick and painless, we were directed room 22 which was in the 'basement' part of the complex. We could not park outside our room which was a designated 'no parking' zone, rather had specific space near the road at the exit. This was fine except the two units each side who did have a car park outside theirs chose to spread out in front of our unit, effectively reducing access to our front slider door. Needless to say we had to keep our curtains drawn. This needs to be addressed by management. Their was a distinctive musty smell in our room and we traced it to the plumbing, specifically the kitchen waste pipe. Being a small studio, it was not possible to escape the odour without leaving the front sliding door open. The one saving grace was that the bed was comfortable. The property is older and in need of a make-over. Going on how full it was the night we were there, the rooms are likely well-used and turnover high. We would choose to stay elsewhere next time in Franz Josef.
