Arriving at your chateaux was a pure delight, beautiful accommodation and a very welcoming and entertaining host. The food was fantastic and we ate the rest of your pie (Pasty) on the ferry which was surprisingly good cold. I had some of your honey for my breakfast this morning too.

We had an amazing time at this beautiful and historic place. Serge is a wonderful host and we were made to feel very welcome. We were invited in to a sitting room with a log fire and shared a bottle of wine. It was Halloween and we told ghost stories. It felt like we were the Adams family! Then we had a candle lit dinner at a huge table and the simple delicious food was amazing. Would definitely go back.

We visited this chateau as part of an Overseas Adventure Travel tour of France In July 2025. We did not know we were going to Chateau de Montautre until we got there. What a pleasant surprise! The owner Serge Lacaze always a gentleman was a fantastic host. We swam in the pool and enjoyed champagne, then a delightful dinner with wine and great conversation. We stayed in a well appointed room and left the next morning after a lovely breakfast. Serge was always available & informative without being intrusive. The tour of the chateau was enjoyable. His renovations over the past few years show his labor of love.

The true medieval experience It's not just to stay in a castle, it is to have the whole medieval experience including a magnificent tour given by Serge, your host. Serge and his wife have performed a very careful renovation of the castle, in which you wouldn't find anything misplaced, but at the same time, you get all the commodities needed. Great breakfast. It was a highlight of our trip.

After 4 busy days visiting Paris, Montautre offered a peaceful and serene haven for our family. Serge was an exceptional host, accommodating and very attentive. He offered us an amazing tour of his 15th century chateau and gave us an insight on what life was like in that area over the centuries. Breakfast was fantastic and we got to taste delicious local delicacies. The accommodations are rustic yet beautiful and very comfortable and we had the most amazing sleep! The surroundings are lush and tranquil, a perfect place for rest and relaxation in a historical setting. Our kids enjoyed exploring the chateau and they loved it as much as we did. We highly recommend! Merci beaucoup!

A beautiful castle in the French countryside for a truly amazing stay! I was traveling with family across France and this place provided us with the best experience of our trip: comfortable beds, authentic feel and deco from another time. Serge was an amazing host and cook, he offered us a wonderful wine for dinner from the South of France! Breakfast was plenty and left us charged for the rest of our trip. I highly recommend this place, great for families but also perfect for couples.

The place to reset ones mind I spent 3 nights and could not believe the secret how this historic castle provided me with such a deep sleep each night. Perhaps it is just about amazing peace and silence, and the feeling of being part of about a very long history (over 600 years) of all these old buildings have witnessed. And as I learned, there are fairly recent discoveries on site dated from Roman times and further investigation on-going taking care by specialists. In any case this is a truly relaxing place where I found myself being connected to the green nature which perfectly surrounds this hidden and very old gem. This is what we all need, I think, to calm down and to get healing from stress by hectic life. To get reset of mindset in a natural way. This is at least what I experienced during these three days. The host, Serge, is a very kind personality. In a nicely modest way and warm heart. I really privileged to get in-death presentation of the history of the castle while Serge guided me through each buildings and rooms. This castle is not a luxury hotel but an unique opportunity to dive to middle ages and beyond. However I found it to be very comfortable as well. Btw. I slept in chambre de la Comtesse.

Back in time Château de Montautre is a castle full of history and character, making it a great place to stay for adults and children alike. Lucky to have an owner that is passionate about its restoration, bringing the chateau back to its glory days. Our room was spacious and comfortable. There are common areas provided to the guests for relaxation and entertainment. There are great outdoor areas for hiking, stars gazing at night or simply relaxing while looking into nature. We enjoyed a candlelight dinner and breakfast in the morning, both showcasing local products. The owner is well informed about the history of the chateau and the family who owned it centuries before. He provided us with a guided tour that covered historic facts dating thousands of years. I highly recommend staying in this amazing place.
