Stayed in a single room, was quite large with a 4 ft bed. Quirky layout of rooms, some overlook a courtyard, some just in a passage, no balconies. At 2 or 3 euro I'd take it. Handy for Station, Port, Fish Alley. Couldn't fault it really, I will be back. Arrived early, reception very good. Room was ready and fridge already in room. Fridge is free, but not always enough t o go round. Air con failed after a few days, moved to a double room no problem. Massive place with park bench, wishing well and street lamps outside my room. Pool was closed because Corona, all staff are excellent. There's a Spanish tapas bar underneath, closed at 4 pm though. I went room only, but check the breakfast price, I have seen it at 2-50, but was 5 euro on my booking.

Just returned from el pourto ,after reading some bad reports I was apprehensive about going as we had booked 2 weeks holiday.we are 2 ladies in our 60s we are friends. It is not as bad as people make out but it is not a holiday hotel it is more transient for people wanting to visit the area and have somewhere to lay their head .there is no appreciation that you have spent a lot of money to stay in their hotel.reception staff ok but they prefer Spanish residents , bar staff in reception area are so rude twice I tried to get served and they just carried on talking to each other so I walked away, no customer service skills at all.restaurant staff are very reserved only the odd one say hello..the best staff are the chamber maids they always speak and are very helpful..the rooms are kept spotless.we was never woke up early.the bathrooms are very small and not private at all.because we are friends one of us kept going out to give the other person privacy for the toilet, Something needs to be done re pool bar it is our pool to use but you can only drink and eat anything bought up there.but it is expensive and some budgets won't stretch to using the bar.again some staff speak and make you feel welcome.breakfast good but evening meal needs looking at as it is repetative and uninviting unless you love sweet things.please be aware it is not mobile friendly with restaurant being up on the first floor of a different block so your down in one lift and back up in another .as the lifts are not very reliable it can take a while to get to the restaurant. I wouldn't personally go back but it is central and very clean.maybe because I served all my career in customer service I expect to be looked after as I would have served residents.maybe they should have a mystery resident to report back to management re the failings of staff.after all we are the people who keep the money coming in and keep the Spanish economy going.please dont worry if you have booked to go as it is not to bad....

Stayed for 10 nights from Boxing Day until 5/1/24. We stayed here last year too but this year extended our stay. Great hotel. I emailed the hotel in advance and asked if I could request the same room as last year. Room 502. The request was granted. Great room On the end of the building with a wrap around balcony. The room faces the pool and also the side of the building with views of the castle and the sea (and the motorway) sunbeds and chairs on balcony. Cleaners work hard the room was cleaned almost everyday. You can walk to the centre of fuengirola via the sea front on the paseo taking about 30 mins to the Plaza Chinorros or you can go via the back streets and this is a little quicker possibly around 22 mins. The Miramar shopping centre is literally over the road with lots of great shops and a huge carrefour supermarket. The hotel was great on New Year’s Eve a real party atmosphere. There was a couple of singers and party bags with streamers, hats balloons and blowers. Great stay we will back again highly recommend.

Today is 28 September 2022 and my daughter Jill's memory on Facebook was of us sitting in the Lomond Lounge at Glasgow Airport before our flight on 28 September 2019, looking forward to another enjoyable holiday at Hotel IPV Palace & Spa. Little did we know that the dreaded COVID pandemic was on the horizon and would almost bring the world to a stop. I have worked from home since 17 March 2020 and have never been on a bus or a train since then never mind an aeroplane. Looking at the memory prompted me to look at my previous reviews and I found that I did not submit a review for that visit. I know it is a bit late in the day however I want the people who read reviews before deciding on their destination to know that this hotel is first class in every way. Perfect location with unbeatable sea view, comfortable beds, scrupulously clean, powerful shower with constant hot water, good food and most important of all the wonderful, friendly, efficient staff. Our Jet2 Holiday was stress free throughout the flight and we were quickly through customs and luggage carousel at Malaga. The transfer to the hotel was pleasant and the driver wheeled my cases up to the entrance. I hesitated, looked around and felt I was back to my happy place. Walking through reception, smiles were coming in our direction before we reached the desk. Warm welcome as we checked in, asked for a kettle which was delivered to the room shortly afterwards. We couldn’t resist one of the delicious fruity boiled sweets which always sit in a bowl on the desk. Once again, we were on the top floor of the Cesares building. Cases discarded, balcony door opened, elbows on the balcony and taking in the panoramic sea view with the ever present sound of the waves … the most relaxing sound in the world. Housekeeping do a brilliant job, the room was pristine and the bathroom gleaming. Toiletries etc. available in case there was something we had forgotten to pack. Wherever we went in the hotel from Beach Bar, Dona Lola Restaurant, Lobby Bar and Shop we caught up with people we have got to know over the years. They all gave us a lovely welcome and hugs all round. Now most of the people reading this will want to know about the restaurant and quality of food. The Dona Lola Restaurant is spacious and all the tables are covered with lovely crisp fresh tablecloths with proper napkins. Weather permitting; we always opt to eat outside on the terrace, part of which is covered. Their breakfasts make a great start to the day. You can choose a cooked breakfast accompanied by eggs any which way you like … omelette, poached, boiled, scrambled (sorry no Cadbury’s chocolate ones). The continental breakfast is also delicious with a good choice of meats, cheeses, etc. Cava is available and with the fresh fruit juices you can easily mix yourself a Bucks Fizz or Bellini. Once your appetite is satisfied, relax with a big pot of coffee. We tend to take relaxation to a different level as we h

As I have a wheelchair, but can go a few steps, we booked the family room for space for the wheelchair. So living room with sofa, table, tv, and a kitchenett (no cooking plate, as that's not allowed in a hotel), but microwave, watercooker, plates, cutlery etc. At arrival there was not only water in the fridge, but also cava, and some snacks and healthy cookies, which was perfect, as we arrived after midnight. And a bedroom with a double bed, tv, bedside tables and space for clothes. The bathroom has a toilet with essentials (soap, shampoo etc) and a lovely hot, big shower. Breakfast is inside or outside on the roof. They serve bread, ham, cheese, jam, fruit, yoghurt, juice, cereal and small cookies. Also different tea's and coffee,'s. (The only tiny minus is the lack of diversity. Maybe some days serve sausage, an egg on Sunday, etc.) Very friendly and helpful staff and clean room. (A tiny minus to change towels every other day which is not needed, and thinking more environmentally friendly.) The place is very central, close to the beach, the train and bus stations, the markets and the city centre, but without the noisy boulevard. (Yet always bring ear plugs on holiday.) The rooms have darkening curtains. There's a playground outside. We really enjoyed our stay and are already planning for our next stay.

This was a well maintained, clean apart-hotel. The staff we encountered were friendly, efficient and provided useful information. We had hired a car so only used the apartment as a base, preferring to travel for day trips to Malaga, Ronda, Marbella etc. We were able to park for free on the road outside the hotel but imagine this is difficult in high season. We can't comment on the food as we never ate in the restaurant preferring to cook in our flat. For self-catering supplies there is a large Carrefour supermarket in the shopping centre a short walk away. As with most appartments, do not expect all the kitchen equipment you have at home, as it was pancake day when we visited, I needed to buy a flat spatula! But there were all the basics including a sharp knife, a grater and a tin opener. Be prepared to bring washing up supplies and to do your own washing up (as is usual). Daily cleaning is limited to a quick sweep, bin change, changing bath linen and making beds. We did make ample use of the indoor pool. Thanks to previous reviews we knew that swim hats were needed and we brought them with us. They also do not allow bare feet etc. in the lifts but luckily we had brought slippers and soft dressing gowns/onezies for the children to change into after swimming.
