Reviews of Hotel Koryu

A nice hotel located alongside lake Kawaguchi. Although the weather is not good enough for us to see the Mt. Fuji, the hotel offers good hot springs, unlimited wine upon arrival, and free flow sake during dinner time. We can also enjoy fresh fish sashimi.

Hotel Koryu’s hospitality was excellent and lovely to stay at. The room was beautiful with Japanese decor, tatami mats and futons. It was great to wake up and go to bed with the lake view. The onsen was great especially the our door baths after a long day. The shuttle bus is really convenient and has set times on when you want to go to the station. The staff are exceptionally lovely and helpful especially reception. There was an incident where i couldn’t book advance bus tickets online to the Shibazakura festival the day before and asked the staff for help and was told to go to the station to buy them. They thought i wanted to reserve it in person before the day I was going and the station closed in an hour so they personally drove me down to the station and helped me ask about the tickets. But it turned out that I couldn’t reserve before and had to book on the day. I felt really bad that they had to drive me to and back but also really grateful with the effort and the willingness to go the extra mile to help. I highly recommend the breakfast to start the day. We didn’t eat dinner at the hotel but we recommend it because most restaurants close in the evening (only open for lunch). If you want to buy food for dinner and/or snacks, the nearest convenience store is a Lawson which is about 15 minutes away on foot. There is a manga library near reception and it was interesting to find out that the owner use to work in the manga industry which is why the library exists. There are lots of manga to read including translated into English. Overall the stay was great and I would 100% recommend it and come here again. Thank you to the staff who work there and we will book again when we visit again.

Very nice traditional style hotel. They serve very fresh sashimi for dinner and unlimited free flow of liquors. Good public onsen and plenty of parking lot.

Great location right by Lake Kawaguchiko, super easy to get to on the red line for ¥250. The accommodation was clean and convenient, with complimentary snacks and free drinking water. They have both indoor and outdoor onsen, which we really made the most of when it snowed during our visit. Dinner and breakfast were also included, making it excellent value for money. Overall, I really loved it!

First time stay . Thought it come with the private outdoor bath but realize the official website and 3rd party booking us different ,so slightly get disappointed. Overall stay is good with shuttle bus to pick up during arrival and checkout but do take note upon requesting it booking only. The lobby will have snacks and welcome drink which allow u free to take. Room is spacious and clean. The dinner was great who prefer simple and varieties japanese food. The location so far is good is about 15-20min walking distance to kawaguchiko station

We generally had good experiences even though the hotel facilities are no longer new. Love their shuttle bus service to pick up us from the train station.

Chill trip, location of hotel is excellent, red line bus stop is just outside the hotel. Also provides complimentary shuttle pick up from kawaguchiko station. Go to tourist info centre and request. Open air onsen operates till 12 mid night. Staff are very courteous and friendly too.

We booked a room with a private open-air onsen. Upon arrival, the hotel informed us that this room was not available. The alternative room shown to us was in poor condition and not comparable to what we booked, so we declined it and did not stay. Despite not using any service, no refund was offered. Be careful when booking – the room type you reserve may not actually be available.

Excellent amenities including Onsen and also shuttle to train station

The hotel was awesome. We missed a bus to Kawaguchiko and called the hotel to ask if we could check in after 7 pm, and they had no problems with it, which we're really grateful for. The room was big and had a great view of lake Kawaguchi. We also extremely enjoyed onsen, it was a relaxing experience after a long day of walking. There are vending machines where you can buy snacks and drinks and a coffee machine that you can use for free.

Considered good for the value as the package come with buffet style breakfast and dinner plus additional service like onsen, free float liquid for dinner, complimentary coffee, drinks, snack, free shuttle bus and library for selected time. Easy to get there by using red line bus just a very short distance of walk. The staffs are friendly and helpful, able to communicate in English. The only con is the building very old, a bit run down, it's time for them to consider refurbishment, but overall it is clean.
