Tominoko Hotel

Mountain view room with an absolutely stunning view of Mount Fuji, and it's cheaper than nearby options. Parking is available and the service is excellent. The bathhouse is a bit small, though.

The hotel was great! They offer a buffet dinner and breakfast, and there's a shuttle service from Kawaguchiko Station. They also have an onsen (hot spring bath). While the facilities are a bit dated, they are very clean. It's a shame the weather wasn't great during my stay.

The hotel's location is excellent, though the room was a bit small. Luckily, we used the large public bath, which had soaking tubs and an outdoor onsen. We could even see Mount Fuji from our room! The complimentary breakfast was decent, but a group of noisy Korean ladies were a bit disruptive. The dinner, however, was amazing: roasted beef, two or three types of fish, seafood paella, and curry – it far exceeded my expectations. I had read reviews saying dinner was very simple, but my actual experience was completely the opposite; it was incredibly rich and varied. Transportation was also convenient. We walked along Lake Kawaguchiko from the station when we arrived, taking many beautiful photos, though it was a shame the cherry blossoms hadn't bloomed yet. In the evening, we took a bus to Oishi Park to see Mount Fuji at dusk. When we left, we arranged for the hotel's shuttle service, and it only took five or six minutes to reach the station. I've actually visited Mount Fuji many times, mostly in summer and autumn, but I've never seen it so clearly from its base as I did this time. Absolutely delightful!

The hotel's location is great, just a few minutes' walk from the subway station. The room size is a bit small (which is common for hotels in Japan), but it was clean and tidy overall. Soundproofing is average, but it was still quiet at night. The staff were very friendly, and both check-in and check-out were smooth. Overall, it was a good experience and worth the price.

Location: This is probably the best location in Kawaguchiko, offering an unobstructed, prime view of Mount Fuji across the lake. It's right next to the famous Ubuya Hotel. Room: I booked what I believe is their best room type, a top-floor suite with a terrace, and it was very spacious. Facilities: Compared to the neighboring hotels, the facilities are indeed quite ordinary, and the onsen (hot spring) is also nothing special. However, considering it's a fifth of the price of those other places, the value for money is unbeatable. Service: There's a shuttle bus service from the hotel to Kawaguchiko Station, but you need to check the timetable in advance. Most of the staff seem to be of Indian descent? While their service attitude can't match the traditional Japanese level of meticulous politeness, it's generally okay. Food: Buffet style, and honestly, it was very average. Overall, for this location and value, it really has no rivals among the hotels situated along the lakefront in Kawaguchiko.

The view is quite good, but the duvet is terrible – it's practically hollow inside! I wonder if they're doing this under the guise of being eco-friendly. I really hope the hotel replaces it. I've never encountered anything like this in any hotel I've stayed at in Tokyo. You can see what I mean in the picture I've uploaded. It's actually laughable!
