Reviews of Zonk Hotel Nakasu

It's a disappointing experience in staying in the Zonk hotel. It's spacious with a simple open kitchen and even equipped with a massage chair. However, the massage chair is broken, the springs of the bed are also not working properly. The room is dusty especially the entrance of the room. Overall it is poorly maintained. The good thing is there is laundry and they provide free welcome drinks and extra towels and amenities.

Location is perfect for our itinerary. We were surprised and grateful with the complimentary drinks that we didn’t expect. Spacious accommodation that’s very rare in Japan.

Hotel has no services at all, self check in n self everything. However location very convenient, lots to explore around the area

Overall good but the heater is not really heat and the smell of the room a little bit weird. And they have kitchen that's really good

there were no staff to assist with our check in process, which was an incredibly tedious slog done to a tablet. and after all the trouble of that, the room passcode they gave us was wrong, and we had to return to ground floor and talk with staff to get a new passcode. the whole process was long and unnecessarialy difficult. and once we were in our room, the toilet was incredibly dirty and unkempt, with black stains across the wall. the experience was overall abysmal, and we would not recommend this sorry excuse for a hotel to anyone.

There are many reviews that say there are hygiene issues, but I had no problems and was comfortable. The facilities such as the bathtub and sink are old. As this is an unmanned hotel, you will need to do a quick check-in. It is a good idea to take a screenshot of the QR code that appears when you register your guest information in advance. (As it is difficult to figure out how to make it appear again later)

We stayed for 1 night! As it was our first day in Fukuoka, we stayed at Zonk Nakasu Fukuoka, which is located near the main tourist attractions. The Zonk brand seems to be a hotel chain located all over Fukuoka. There was one in Nakasu Island as well. The zonk we stayed at is located between Nakasu and Tenjin Minami Stations, and you can get to Nakasu just by crossing the bridge. Check-in is done using an unmanned tablet in the lobby on the 1st floor, and it starts at 16:00. If you go before that, there is a paid cabinet where you can store your luggage. It costs 600 yen. We stayed in room 505 on the 5th floor, and the room condition was good for 1 night, but the cleanliness was a bit disappointing for 2 nights or more. As for cleanliness... the floor of the room was made of fabric, but the bottom of the bed was covered in dust, and the corners were full of dust. The water in the bathtub didn't drain, so I looked and found that the bathtub drain was clogged. The water wasn't draining slowly, it wasn't draining at all. So I swished the provided free toothbrush in the drain, and a bunch of ugly hair like the one in the picture came up. It seemed like they didn't clean at all. And the room control tablet in the room didn't have a network connection, so I couldn't contact the host. The advantages of this hotel are the location, free drinks, and a small massage chair. The refrigerator was stocked with beer and soda that would cost about 2,000 yen to buy at a convenience store. Thanks to that, all the complaints died down. However, in the long run, no matter how unmanned the hotel is, the hotel management should be meticulous in managing the room condition.
