Clara was a superb hostess welcoming us when we arrived and showing us to Pikis Flat. It may be compact but it looked lovely , everything we needed was there and the bed was very comfortable. I would give this flat 5* it’s just the main building is rather sad and the pool is out of action. We were given free passes to use the Lido during our stay. What a fabulous view we had with sun all afternoon. There’s a washing machine which was great as we were here for 4 weeks. Once a week the sheets and towels were changed and items topped up like toilet rolls, washing up liquid and some washing pods. It’s been beautifully done out and the shower was terrific. A short walk ( uphill!) to the supermarket in the Forum with lots of places close by to eat out if you prefer. There are bus stops close by for a trip into Funchal at just €2 each. We love this area and have been many times before but this was the longest stay and first self catering. I think it’s the way to go!! Really loving it here.

Do not even consider it. Pool out of action. Water in it green and who knows what in there. Masked off with builders tape. The ground floors of the block under renovation. Looks like it has been like this for a while. 2* at best.
