My stay at Muthu Raga Madeira Hotel was quite disappointing. Upon arrival, the female staff member at reception was not very friendly or welcoming. I had specifically requested a double bed during my reservation but was given two single beds in a disabled-access room, which I wasn’t happy with.
When I went to reception to raise the issue, I was told a staff member would come to convert the beds into a double. However, hours passed and nothing was done until I went back again to complain.
The room also had an unpleasant sewage smell, which made the stay uncomfortable. There were no basic amenities provided, no kettle, coffee, tea, or iron, which was quite surprising for a hotel of this category.
Breakfast was also underwhelming, with very limited options available.
The only positive aspect of this hotel is its location, close to attractions, restaurants, and shops, which made it convenient to get around.
