Sleep Inn & Suites University/Shands

The hotel is clean, and the staff at the desk are great. That said, the beds are not comfortable at all, and it sounds like someone is walking on your head if you're on a lower floor. It is in a decent area and close to food and shopping.

Very good service

We had a nice stay with using laundry. Breakfast was good with eggs, some meat, porridge/yogurt and fresh self-made waffles. They also serve popcorn and cookies throughout the day, as well as coffee and/or tea.

It's OK

The hot breakfast was very good. Room was fine. Parking no problem. Enjoyed the afternoon popcorn and cookies in the lobby.

“There was a very strong musty smell in the room. The furniture was very old, and the bed sheets also had a strong old smell. The room definitely needs to be renovated. However, the front desk staff was wonderful and very professional.”

The facility was great except for the shower. The drain in the shower appeared dirty and did not drain water well

There was a strong mildew smell. The shower curtain smell like if they were not properly dried.

Carpet NEEDS to be removed. It’s too sticky already. Ice machine needs to CLEANED, when we took some ice for our water bottle and cooler, lots of BLACK MOLD came out. It appears to be slimy with fuzzy patches from the internal components of the machine. Bathroom drain needs to fixed on our room. Water flow is very slow. We stayed for a week, Spring Break 2026, scheduled for cleaning for Tuesday or Wednesday but haven’t had any luck at all. Nobody came to clean. But other than that, Front desk crew was very friendly and breakfast was fantastic.
