Ahu Bay

Overall an excellent stay. Beautiful location right on the beach. Well designed, modern rooms. We had a Bay View Pool Suite and it was quite large and the plunge pool was large. We enjoyed the food, it was pretty good. Prices were reasonable. We especially enjoyed happy hour drinks watching the sunset. The hotel faces directly to the west. Our only 2 observations and suggestions: Once you step onto the beach we were immediately approached by obnoxious taxi drivers selling tours and transfers. It’s a shame to ruin the peaceful vibe of the hotel but this is likely allowed by the government. Secondly, we were woken up several times at night by barking dogs from the nearby neighbors. We chose to stay here prior to our departure from CMB to avoid a night in Colombo. The drive to the airport was only 2 hours and this worked well. We would stay here again for a short stay.

We arrived as the sun was setting - it was a dreamy view of red sky behind coconut palms. Room beautifully appointed. Food was excellent, especially breakfasts. Friendly staff.

Beautiful Hotel with wonderful views over the Ocean. The infinity pool is stunning and the restaurant which is part of the lobby area looks over the pool and sea. Spotlessly clean, with helpful friendly staff. Menu is a little limited if you are staying for more than 4 days but the food is very good. Make the most of Happy hour for half price drinks as alcohol is more expensive than many hotels in Sri Lanka. Rooms are spacious with views and an amazing bathroom. Very comfy bed.
