I'd give the service a zero. As an Aman fan, this is the worst service I've ever experienced. We booked a temple and stilt fisherman tour, and the butler chatted with the driver the whole way, communicating in a language other than English. Even when I closed my eyes to sleep, he wouldn't stop talking. My husband injured his foot, and the doorman never offered to help with anything or carry anything. The service was truly terrible!!

To be honest, this is the only one that is below my expectations among the five hotels I stayed in Sri Lanka this time. The room is located in a long corridor, which is not very pleasant to walk through: first, the corridor is quite hot, and second, there is a distinct smell of gasoline. After arriving in the room, I was bitten by mosquitoes, and even after turning on the mosquito repellent, the mosquitoes continued to bite, and I finally had to spray myself with mosquito repellent. The air conditioner in the room is very loud, and the shower head in the shower room also makes a harsh noise under the impact of water flow - these problems make me feel that they should not appear in a hotel of Amman's level. In addition, since Amman's massage program is very famous, I booked a Shirodhara massage. As a first-time guest experiencing this program, I didn't know that I couldn't take a shower or go out within two hours after the massage. The staff didn't inform me in advance, which resulted in my original itinerary being disrupted. Moreover, after the massage, they asked to go back to the room to drink hot water and turn off the air conditioner. At this time, I realized that there was no kettle in the room. After turning off the air conditioner, the room was very stuffy and oily, and coupled with the trouble of mosquitoes, this experience was really unsatisfactory. Of course, apart from these issues, the service in Amman is still excellent as always. They gave me a beautiful bookmark on the first night, which I liked very much; when I left, they folded a little elephant on my bed with towels and put my sunglasses on it, which was full of humor and warmth. The bed in the hotel was very comfortable and the sleep quality was very good. On the day of watching whales, they thoughtfully prepared a packed breakfast for me, and the pool and yoga experience were also great. After the yoga class, they also sent sweet coconut water. Overall, despite some unsatisfactory aspects, the friendliness and meticulous service of the hotel staff are still commendable.

Amangale is highly rated overall, especially in Sri Lanka, where its cost-effectiveness and level are particularly magnified! The meticulous and subtle service that is not easy to be discovered, the best location and the best view of Galle in the room are all reasons why it is worth checking in! I was also upgraded to a suite👏

Beautiful, old hotel, beautifully renovated and decorated. Of course everything is very well maintained and clean. Very nice pool, where you'll want to spend a while. Also remarkably friendly and attentive pool staff, we were shown all the different species of birds that visit the garden. A visit to the sauna and steam bath is highly recommended, which you can use for 30 minutes a day free of charge. Spacious, quiet rooms with all the comforts you could wish for, only a kettle in the room would be a nice addition. We were a little disappointed with the kitchen. The evening meal and breakfast were not bad, of course, but not remarkable or exceptionally good. During our trip through the country, we ate much better in much cheaper hotels and an Aman should strive to stand out in a positive way. Overall, very friendly and hard-working staff who take great care of their guests. If you love old, historic colonial hotels, you should definitely stay here!
