We were traveling from Tennessee to Arizona and stayed only at Hampton Inns because the hotels are usually always clean and have great staff. This hotel had Jessica at check in, she is very nice and checked us in quickly. The hotel was clean as well as the room. Beds were comfortable and we had a great night’s sleep. They also have an indoor pool and a hot tub. The hotel is very close to I 40. The breakfast in the morning was very fresh and hot. Rayshell checked us out in the morning and is very friendly as well. Checkout was quick and we were on our way. Nice hotel to stay at if you’re in the area.

My family and I stayed here when we were in the midst of moving from our home in the area. The staff was absolutely amazing! The check-in staff made it a point to build relationship with my daughter who loved walking by the front desk to see her “friends”. The breakfast staff was also amazing, especially Christopher. I have stayed at many Hilton properties over the years, as I am a diamond member through Hilton properties, and this was easily a top five experience in customer service!

After a long drive with our 3 kids we were disappointed to be told we couldn’t have a baby crib. We were told there was one available but because there was only one person working they could not leave the desk. While we understand she could not leave it, it left us without a bed for our three month old. We booked through a third party website and didn’t have an option to leave a note or reserve a crib. We tried calling on the way but there was no service for most of the drive. Then when we did get through to the hotel, it kept going to an pre-recorded message and said there was an error. So we did try in advance to get a crib. The lady at the desk did not come across compassion to our situation and came off more scolding than helpful. It’s unfortunate that policy limited her from giving us a crib to take up ourselves. Then she added information, telling my husband that she didn’t think they cleaned the cribs so we wouldn’t want one anyway! In our room, it was spacious and fairy clean however a hand towel had mascara residue one one side and light brown spots in the other. The pull out couch bed was the most uncomfortable bed I’ve ever slept on. I could feel every single spring digging into my ribs and hips. Fun times. We paid for a restful night after a long drive but no crib and a bad pull out mattress made things harder and less restful. The queen beds were very soft. So that was nice for our other family members.

I lost my kitty last week when I stayed here. She slipped out of my room. I was heartbroken. When I told the front desk clerk, she spread the word. No luck. Before I left, she told me to go talk to Jeannie in the kitchen. Jeannie told me if my kitty were found, she would take her home and keep her safe till I could go back and get her. Well, kitty was found 2 days later in another room. Jeannie kept her promise; it was almost 6 days before I got kitty back with me. I am so thankful.

I had booked a the day before we were due to arrive because I was helping my daughter move from Phoenix to Nashville. On the way to Gallup, we hit a huge pot hole in the road and flattened two of the tires on my daughters car and bent the rim on one. With only one spare, we had to stay the night in Holbrook, AZ since no tire places were open in the small town. I called the Red Roof Inn in Gallup and told them I would not be able to arrive and was told I would be charged since I didn't cancel prior to the 6 pm cutoff time. I explained that I could not have anticipated that the problem with the car prior to that time since the car became undriveable at approximately 8:45 pm. I was asked to call back in the morning and speak with the manager. I called back the next morning and she was not available. I called back several other times and left messages and I have yet to hear back from her. I disputed the charges with Discover and they denied it because she told them I was a no call, no show!!!! Seriously??? We were going across the country with a car and moving truck. I still feel this is no way to treat people especially when I did call giving them the opportunity to use that room for someone else. And for her to NEVER return my calls, that shows zero customer service and then to lie to Discover. I wonder if I had called prior to 6 pm if she would have still charged me and lied about me calling to cancel the room. The girl that answered the phone each time I called showed compassion to us. We had to purchase two new tires and a new rim for my daughter's car and pay for a room in Holbrook for that same night. We really needed the money back from the room we didn't use and cancelled as soon as we knew we could not be there. My first call was to AAA and the next one was to the Red Roof Inn in Gallup. I was so disappointed in the lack of customer service exhibited by the management here. Not even willing to return my calls...... And then to lie to Discover...... what can I say??? Susan Baker

We often find ourselves in Gallup, NM because it's about 300 miles from our home in AZ and we like to travel about 300 miles a day when we take our motorcycle trips. We've stayed in many hotels in Gallup and they're all about the same, unless you really want to pay a high price. We like to stay in the $80 range when possible, so those higher end places aren't really for us. We have been staying at the Hampton Inn in Gallup for the last 5 years or so, but when their last room cost us upwards of $140, we decided to look elsewhere. After our current stay at the Quality Inn and Suites ($89 a night) we probably will keep looking. The young lady at the front desk was pleasant and accommodating and let us check in a bit earlier than the 3 pm check in time. She also switched our room to a first floor room when we found out that there was no elevator on premises. All rooms have parking lot entrances which we prefer when on our bikes. We got room 113 with a king sized bed. The room has a fridge, microwave, but no coffee maker. Breakfast (of sorts) is complimentary and still being served even with the Covid. The A/C is a wall unit that is pretty quiet and cools the smallish room well. There is a desk, desk chair, a bureau, a standing "closet" , 2 nightstands and an arm chair. There's also a 32" flatscreen TV. So, the room is pretty full especially after bringing luggage in. The bathroom is clean, but older and showing wear. The shower control was very temperamental and the shower head needs to be cleaned to improve the spray. There are 2 towels, 2 wash cloths, 2 hand towels and 1 bar of soap. There's a hair dryer, 1 tiny bottle of shampoo, conditioner and lotion. There were cigarette burn holes in our comforter, but the room didn't smell of smoking BE AWARE: ALL rooms at this hotel are pet friendly, so if you're allergic to pets you may want to stay somewhere else. All in all, OK for one night, but we probably will not be staying here again. NOTE: Face masks are REQUIRED in NM
