We really wanted to like this place, but it was disappointing from the start. We’ve been to Galveston dozens of times and this was one of our least favorite condos. First off, is it Inverness by the Sea or Captain’s Cove? The signage alone was very confusing just to confirm we were at the correct place. The parking lot is very small and cramped, and in the summer it makes for a very hot trek to our room. Not one, but all 3 elevators were out of order (which nobody mentioned ahead of time). We have mobility impaired family members and lots of luggage. Making several trips up multiple flights of stairs in 100degrees just didn’t start things off well. The tennis courts we parked next to look like they’ve not been taken care of since the 1970’s. The bbq grills are all dismantled and laid on the ground, and there’s a really gross gas station directly behind the Condos that you’re reminded of everytime you enter or exit the property. The office is only open during normal business hours, so getting anything taken care of outside of those times is impossible. People stomping around above and below us. The balconies are nice and large, much larger than others we’ve stayed at, but they are completely concrete which seems to amplify all of the sound from the Sea Wall traffic. The entire property seems incredibly dated. They could at the very least throw some new paint on the building… The good… the pool is a nice area and allows you to look directly at the beach. Every room is beach front. Walking distance to the beach. Overall I’d not stay here again.
