The room is spacious, and the bathroom and dining are good. It takes about 25 minutes to walk to the city.
The soundproofing of the room is poor, and the sound of people talking at the door feels like the door is open, noisy!

From start to finish this hotel met all our requirements. Staff ( especially Shea in restaurant) was excellent and very helpful. No worries actually means no worries at this hotel and a short walk to downtown and beach area.

We are a family of four and had a lovely 3-night break in the Ardilaun. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. It was very busy while we were there. Like most businesses at the moment they did seem a little under-staffed but they managed well.

We’re delighted to hear that you had a lovely stay and found our staff to be friendly and helpful, even during a busy period. We hope to welcome you and your family back soon for another wonderful stay! Le gach dea-ghuí, The Ardilaun Hotel.

This was the only hotel in Ireland we stayed at that I am ranking below 5 stars. They have the rudest staff who left our baggage out in the rain for 4.5 hours. How did I not notice? Because we got kidnapped into a 2.5 meal where the food was tasteless and borderline raw. It took an hour just to receive our appetizers. Back to the bags, they claimed we never paid for porters (we did) therefore they ignored the bags. However, we had a paper reservation stating we paid. Even if we hadn’t paid, wouldn’t you ask someone why they are leaving their bags outside for almost five hours? The only reason I am ranking two stars is because the bartender was a sweet young man who was a pleasure to speak with.
Response from Property: Dear Passport00569679498, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. I want to sincerely apologize for the issues you encountered during your stay. It is disappointing to hear that your experience did not meet the high standards we strive to provide. We understand how frustrating the situation with your luggage and the delay in your meal must have been, and I’m deeply sorry for the inconvenience caused. Your comments regarding the service are being taken very seriously, and I will be addressing this with our team to ensure such lapses do not happen in the future. Regardless of any misunderstandings regarding porter services, your belongings should have been handled with care and consideration. We appreciate your feedback, as it helps us improve. I’m glad to hear that you had a positive experience with our bartender, and I will make sure to pass along your kind words to him. Thank you again for your review, and we hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back in the future to provide a much-improved experience. Le gach dea-ghuí, The Ardilaun Hotel.

We were there for a wedding and yes we had a discount on the room price but my comments below still seem relevant given this is a 4* and well respected hotel. 1. The room had a double bed and a single bed but only one chest of drawers/bedside cabinet. For a hotel of this stature to force one person to have nothing to put water/glasses/phone/book etc on at night is unacceptable. The fact is if the single bed was pushed flush to the wall, another unit could have been fitted in on the window side of the double bed. Would not stay there again unless this was guaranteed. 2. No fridge, again poor for even the cheapest room in a 4* hotel and not acceptable. Again, would not stay there again unless this was guaranteed. 3. No toilet brush. 4. Breakfast - no menu/guidance on arrival in restaurant -nobody asked us whether we wanted tea/coffee on first morning-sausage of poor quality for 4* hotel breakfast - scrambled egg looked unappetising. On the bright side, apart from that one instance at breakfast day 1, all staff were uniformly excellent. We wanted to like our experience more.
Response from Property: Dear Jonathan, Thank you for sharing your feedback following your recent stay with us. We greatly appreciate your candid comments and sincerely apologize for the aspects of your stay that fell short of expectations. I want to assure you that mini fridges are available upon request, and I apologize if this was not communicated to you during your visit. We're sorry to hear about the inconvenience with the bedside arrangements, and we take your comments seriously as we continuously strive to enhance guest comfort. Your feedback regarding the room setup will be reviewed with our team. Regarding breakfast, I apologize for the lack of direction you experienced, and for the quality of certain items not meeting your expectations. We would like to note that eggs can be freshly prepared to order from the kitchen if scrambled eggs are not to your liking, and we are sorry this was not made clearer. On a positive note, we're glad that you found our staff to be excellent throughout your stay, apart from that one breakfast instance. We truly hope you’ll consider giving us another chance in the future, as we would love to provide you with an improved experience. Le gach dea ghuí, The Ardilaun Hotel.

Fabulous hotel with really great staff. The bistro is a must. Great value and matching quality of food and service. Easy access to salthill and the city and a friendly well fitted leisure centre on site. Gardens are manicured and can’t speak highly enough of the staff

We had a wonderful stay at The Ardilaun Hotel which included my daughter’s wedding day. The room we had was big, bright, airy & clean. The beds were so comfortable. The staff were all extremely friendly, welcoming & attentive. Nothing was too much trouble. The food in the bar was delicious. The day of the wedding was perfect & that was thanks to the staff ensuring everyone had a great time. They were so attentive & checked in with the bride & groom regularly to see if they needed anything & were happy with everything. The catering for the wedding was delicious. All the guests throughly enjoyed their meal. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone but particularly to any couples who are looking for a venue in Galway. It’s fabulous!
Response from Property: Dear Geraldine, Thank you for sharing such a heartfelt review of your stay at The Ardilaun Hotel. We’re honored to have been a part of your daughter’s special day and thrilled to hear that everything was perfect. It’s wonderful to know that you found your room spacious, bright, and comfortable, and that our staff made you feel welcome and attended to. Your kind words truly mean a lot to us. We’re delighted that the wedding day went smoothly and that everyone enjoyed our hospitality. Your recommendation, especially for couples seeking a wedding venue in Galway, is greatly appreciated. We hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you back in the future. Thank you once again for your lovely review. Le gach dea-ghuí, The Ardilaun Hotel.

I have stayed for 5 nights here for business. The rooms are all clean but the decor is in need of upgrading. The food, on the other hand, is poor. Breakfast has a very limited selection for a 4-star hotel. Coach tours are given priority for breakfast if one wants to have breakfast early. Coffee is very poor. The bistro food is mediocre. States fresh veg, its definitely frozen veg that's being used. There are better restaurants towards salt hill a d town. The location of the hotel in salthill is the only positive. There is ample parking etc. The staff are very friendly and helpful. They are doing their best with the resources they have.
Response from Property: Dear Eimear, Thank you for taking the time to share your detailed feedback. We appreciate your kind words about our friendly and helpful staff, as well as our convenient location and ample parking. We’re sorry to hear that certain aspects of your stay, particularly the food and decor, did not meet your expectations. Your comments about breakfast selection, coffee quality, and the bistro menu are important to us, and we will be reviewing these areas to see how we can improve. We strive to offer a high-quality experience for all our guests, and I apologize for any inconvenience you experienced during your stay. Your feedback helps us understand where we can do better, and we’ll be sure to take your observations into consideration. Thank you again for your review, and we hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back and provide a more satisfying experience in the future. Le dea-ghuí, The Ardilaun Hotel.

We recently stayed here as a la her group for a family gathering. On arrival the front desk staff were very friendly and welcoming and check in was quick. The hotel was extremely accommodating providing a cot and mini fridge for our room. We booked dinner in the bistro that evening and were excited to try the new menu however when we sat down because we were a party of 11 we weren't allowed to order from the bistro menu and instead was given a disappointing set menu. This really puts a damper on the evening. Breakfast was included in our stay, service was quick but thought their could be more options given the price of the stay. We also used the pool but it was quite cold, our baby was shivering so we moved to the very shallow heated baby pool. Overall a good stay.
Response from Property: Dear Laura, Thank you for sharing your experience with us. We're glad to hear that our front desk team provided a warm welcome and that the accommodations in your room met your needs. I’m sorry to hear that your dining experience didn’t fully meet your expectations. To ensure smooth and efficient service for everyone, especially with larger groups like yours, we offer a set menu. This approach helps us maintain the quality and timing of service, but I understand that it wasn’t what you were hoping for, and I apologize for any disappointment this caused. We will review our policies as we continue to enhance our guest's experiences. We appreciate your feedback on breakfast and the pool as well, and we will look into these areas to improve the experience for our guests. Thank you for choosing to stay with us, and we hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back in the future. Le gach dea-ghuí, The Ardilaun Hotel

Not good value for money- stayed one night. Waiting well past check in time for our room. Pool was cold. No real facilities for kids. Waiting over an hour for dinner even for the kids meal. Food was only average when it arrived. Overall not somewhere I would stay again.

If you're looking for a traditional, family-friendly hotel that warmly welcomes pets, this place is a fantastic choice. The beautifully maintained grounds create a charming and inviting atmosphere right from the start. Our garden room boasted a lovely outlook and was both spacious and exceptionally clean. The room was well-equipped with a generous tea and coffee tray and plenty of extra towels, making our stay comfortable and convenient. The staff here are super friendly and welcoming, contributing greatly to the overall pleasant experience. The self-service breakfast offered a variety of options to start the day off right. Dinner in the Bistro was very pleasant, with a good menu that is sensibly priced. The portions were enormous, providing excellent value for money. There’s plenty of car parking available, which is a definite plus, especially for families and those traveling with pets. Overall, this hotel offers a wonderful blend of traditional charm and modern comfort, making it a great choice for a family getaway or a stay with your furry friends.
