A nice safe hostel in Galway city. Very friendly staff. Close to the bus station and train station. The only downside if you have a car is the immigrants' next door hogging all the parking on the street!

This hostel exceeded expectations, for me.
The rooms had comfy beds, large lockers and air-con. The free breakfast was delicious and home made and they even do family dinner each night which is great value and a fun way to meet people. The bathrooms were basic but functional and clean and I didn't have to wait for a shower.
The pub downstairs was lively and good value.
I would suggest bringing ear plugs though as the live music goes on quite late some nights so if you want to sleep you'll need them.

I can only wax lyrical about the hostel; It is one of the best I've ever had, not only considering the aforementioned reviews, but especially with regard to the price and the friendly and very helpful staff as well as the good beds and hot showers and problem-free WiFi. I wonder how it is in the summer and would like to come here again.
I loved this hostel, it was soo good! The rooms were big and clean and everyone staying here were so nice. Same goes for the staff, they’re were really friendly and helpful, specially Tom! I would really recommend the pub crawl as well, you have a really fun night and meet a lot of new friends, including the guide who stayed out with us even after the crawl. Big recommend!!

I had a great stay at Galway City Hostel. The staff are super friendly, there was free breakfast (basic but good), and the bathrooms were spacious and clean. I made some lovely friends and the hostel felt very welcoming and positive. It was in a fantastic location as well, right in Eyre Square and a short walk to the Latin Quarter (pubs and restaurants etc). The staff also let me stay an extra night when I was feeling too unwell to travel to my next destination, and offered help if there's anything I needed. Highly recommend!

The hostel was easy to spot on the corner of the Square when i got off the bus at the station and it was a warm welcome and efficient check in to a clean and airy room with a view onto the corner of Ayre Square. The beds were comfy enough and the bathrooms were clean. I appreciated the breakfast, which was simple but ample, and with a slight local twist. The atmosphere was good in the hostel throughout my 3 days there, and this is in part due to work of the staff. I'd particularly like to mention Tom, who was always friendly and provided good tips and suggestions when asked. The only drawback would come if you are a light sleeper. It's in a great location but remember it's a hostel in Galway right above a bar. It does get quiet for a few hours before daybreak at least. I did feel tired after 3 nights. I would go back though, but maybe for one or two night next time!

Galway City Hostel is ideally located in Eyre Square in the city Centre, making everything you need or want to see within walking distance. The hostel has a lot of extra amenities, the legendary pub crawl is not to be missed! And whenever I needed help/information, the receptionist staff went above and beyond for me. Caoimhe was especially friendly and helpful! I’d recommend making an effort to stay here if you’re visiting Galway!!!

A fantastic little hostel, right next to the town square. The intimate vibe makes it a perfect destination for a solo traveller. Stayed there for two weeks and made a lot of great friends. The staff are super friendly and the place is spotless. Great breakfast and very comfortable beds. I would definitely stay there again!
