Saxon Lodge

What a gem this place is. I had four extra days after a conference in Capetown and booked here after a brief online search.  Karen and Dave have made this a lovely place to be.  As soon as I arrived they invited me to a beer at the cozy pub onsite, gave me great advice on who to book with for shark diving and whale watching… and then later hiking in DeKelders … My “room” as a solo traveler was really a condo— a living room with kitchenette, and then upstairs the bedroom. Good food, good wifi, and good conversation made the experience an A +. Lulu the friendly dog cements the deal to make the place feel like home.!

Lovely stay at the Saxon Lodge. Great service, friendly staff with good breakfast. Would definitely stay here again.

Amazing place with the most friendly owners I ever meet, very clean and really careful

The owners are lovely people, who catered to our every need and made us feel very at home. The food was incredible! Karen is an amazing cook! The bedrooms were spacious and very clean and the beds were really comfortable! There are extra heaters and blankets in the rooms for the winter too which was a an additional bonus. Thankyou for a lovely stay :)

We booked a last-minute stay at Saxon Lodge on the day of a wedding, and Caron was absolutely wonderful—so friendly and helpful. She responded quickly, allowed us to check in early to accommodate our plans, and even upgraded our room. The lodge is peaceful with lovely views, and breakfast was delicious. Highly recommended for anyone stopping by in Gansbaai!

We have just had a wonderful experience at Saxon Lodge. Caron and Dave were very helpful and caring about how we were enjoying our stay with them. The living area in our suite was exactly what we needed and the bedroom and bathroom were perfect. We left feeling we had made new friends and our visit to Gansbaai was enriched because of where we had stayed.

Lovely place. Delicious food. Lulu was the best! Beautiful view. Great people. Stayed in the dolphin cottage and it was very spacious and great for personal space. Lounge was great for a movie night and bar area was perfect for playing cards

I stayed in Saxon Lodge for three days (two nights) during my visit to Gansbaai City for the Shark Cage Diving. The most important fact that I would state about Saxon Lodge, that the moment you step a foot in and you are “home”. Caron and Dave have a talent to make you feel welcome; suddenly you are talking to Dave like an old friend, and were just catching up with what you guys have missed. You might want to hear about service; all what I can say, that everything you should expect in a lodge is there and more; rapped with outstanding and friendly environment.
