Westgate Smoky Mountain Resort & Water Park

This was a wonderful resort and perfect for Christmas vacation. The staff was very friendly and the express check out was a bonus. I appreciated that the resort had lots of amenities and the rooms were spacious and very clean. This is perfect for families l.

The property from outside has a promise and it does fool you by the premises well maintain and big. However, once you get your room, you get a smack on the head to snap out of it. We booked a one bedroom villa and we got something less than a regular hotel room. We were 4 two adults two children and we could barely fit our luggage in the room. It says you get laundry and it is actually shared with your neighbor guests outside of the room. It was just not what we were sold on when booking. We travel a lot and I usual lay look at the reviews and just be careful when booking, the rooms are very very small for the name they are advertising it for. Not worth the money, you can book a whole cabin for your family for the same amount. The waterpark is not included unless you’re an owner. Very very dissatisfying. It is not even quiet because you can hear other guests in other rooms as if they would be next to you. It is definitely a big no for us. For pictures from outside it looks wonderful but trust me once you get the room it feels like the biggest scam.. definitely not coming back. One thing is good is it’s location.

We were so excited about the indoor Waterpark that we bought 2 day tickets. When we got to the Waterpark we realized how cold the water was. It was way to cold for my 2 young children. We asked for a refund because we wouldn’t be able to use the second day, but was not given one. The bathtub had brown under the nozzles and you can hear the people above you really easily. The people above us woke us up several times a night. The next morning my daughter woke up screaming pain in her ear probably from the terrible water park. This stay was a big disappointment we ended up leaving early and not staying the full time.

Beautiful resort! We did like it. But some honest feedback. The only issue is that you’re 20mins from the front desk if you end up in one of the units that’s the furthest out. If your room key doesn’t work it’s 40mins just driving to get it fixed. And… There were no dairy free, gluten free options at the only restaurant onsite. We had a kitchen in our room so we cooked for ourselves but it would have been nice to have a meal on site. The dining room looked nice!

We stayed for 3 nights and had a wonderful time at the resort. Our son truly enjoyed the water park, fun games, and other activities at the resort. The hotel service, cleanliness were excellent. The staff was constantly checking if we were comfortable or needed anything. We had breakfast and dinner at the resort's restaurant and the cuisine was excellent. One drawback was they did not have enough resources, hence they were not able to handle more than 6 to 7 tables at once. Their dining capacity was meant to handle at least 20-25 tables/families at one time. Their staff was doing their best. The staff that handles the restaurant area needs to be trained. It looked like the dining area staff were unhappy seeing anyone dining there. The visitors could feel that awkwardness. The staff would make the visitors wait for 20-30 minutes even though the entire dining area was empty with hardly 2 to 3 tables being served. That was very weird. It seems they didn't want to work or were not trained to manage the customers by being prompt, active, and happy (most importantly). On our first day when we checked in, they didn't mention the dining services, and we forgot to ask them as well. So on our way, we asked the security guard about the next day's breakfast options, and he said that they didn't serve any breakfast and stopped since COVID-19. Also, they don't have enough resources. Later we found out that was misinformation. Food was out of the world though. And the stay was excellent.

When first arriving to this resort everything seemed ok. Making our way to our building driving around the corners a few people almost hit us for not staying in their own lane when turning. Then making it to our building the parking is way too tight and not enough of them. In our room the bedroom phone didn’t work. But don’t worry staff constantly text you while your there. They also limit the buttons that work on your tv remote including the mute button for some reason. And if you also like staying at a place where you can hear your neighbors not just talking but also pounding and running around. And not being courteous to the neighbors below them. This is for you. Once manage my told me they couldn’t get us a room on the top floor or any other accommodation after speaking to Justin at front desk, who doesn’t have any sympathy, beats around the problem with no solution. And didn’t pay attention to the story about the situation because he kept getting the information wrong. I finally received my refund four days later.

Everything is available in the resort so it is very convenient and relaxing place. Will definitely return

We had a rough experience. The check-in was awful. I could see 6 employees behind the office wall but only one person was checking people in, despite a long line. When it finally got to my turn the employee was short and unfriendly. There was an unexpected pet charge of $150 and other unpleasantness but the kicker was that she would only check me into one of our two rooms, and made my son join the now 6-person line to check in instead of helping him while we were standing there. There are zero amenities - not even a hair dryer - and you have to pay for the water park. Anyone considering buying a timeshare there should also know that the presentation is closer to 3 hours than the 90 minutes they claim, and you still have to pay for amenities, AND might not get the room you requested.
