On the last day of our Penang trip, we haphazardly picked a hotel relatively close to the airport to make catching our flight easier. To our surprise, this decision turned out to be a delightful one! The hotel was unexpectedly near Queensbay Mall, allowing us to enjoy another beautiful Penang sunset before we left.
In the evening, we took a stroll along the bay, watching the sun slowly dip below the horizon, painting the sky in a gorgeous orange hue. It truly put a romantic end to our trip. Even better, the hotel was also very close to Queensbay Mall, so we popped in for some shopping and left with plenty of goodies – lots of those Penang instant noodles we'd been craving and local chocolates to bring back as souvenirs. Perfect!
There were five of us, and we booked a three-bedroom unit, which was incredibly spacious; we never felt cramped at all. However, there were a couple of minor issues with the rooms worth mentioning: First, the ventilation felt a bit inadequate, making the air slightly stuffy. Since we only slept for a short three to four hours before our early flight, it was manageable, but for guests planning a longer stay of several days, it might be uncomfortable. Second, the water heater in one of the bathrooms wasn't working, meaning there was no hot water. This forced all five of us to squeeze into the only shower with hot water, which was definitely inconvenient.
I sincerely hope the hotel will improve its regular inspection and maintenance of room facilities, as great amenities are essential for a better guest experience. Overall, for groups like ours who just need a short过渡 and an early flight the next day, the location and space are quite suitable. But if you're planning a longer stay, I'd recommend confirming the condition of the room facilities with the hotel beforehand.
