U Hotel Penang

Quite a convenient location with Tesco supermarket right beside the hotel, coffee shop in ground floor. But the room very noisy because of the location by the roadside. When open up window there’s funny smell too.

My stay at U Hotel Penang was simple, comfortable, and worth the price. The hotel is located in Gelugor, quite strategic if you plan to move around Penang Island not exactly in the tourist centre, but still convenient with Grab and nearby food spots.

Strategic location between George Town and Bayan Lapas. Cyclist friendly hotel as the management allow customer to bring it their bicycle into the room.

The hotel room was well-equipped and comfortable. There were plenty of hangers available, which made it very convenient to organize clothes. The room also provided a hair dryer, body lotion, shampoo, and a safety box, which were all very useful during the stay. Overall, the amenities were complete and made the experience pleasant.

⭐️⭐️ Disappointing Stay at U Hotel I was really looking forward to my stay at U Hotel, but unfortunately it turned out to be quite disappointing. There was a loud alarm-like noise that kept going off in the hotel, almost like a fire alarm. I noticed it happening since the evening, and even though it stopped for a while, it started again around midnight and continued on and off. It became so disturbing that I could not sleep. I eventually had to call the front desk to inform them, and only then did someone attend to the issue. The noise finally stopped around 1 am, but by that time my rest was already affected. I understand that technical issues can happen, but something this loud and disruptive should have been handled much earlier. The hotel has potential, but this experience made the night very uncomfortable. I really hope they improve their maintenance and response in the future.
