Hotel Major Reviews

This hotel is right in the downtown area but I would not describe it as a hotel. It is more of a pensione with a common bathroom for the rooms. There is no common area for guests. There is a bar but there is really no room to sit down and enjoy a drink or a meal. A breakfast option is available but it is not a hot breakfast and one would have to eat in their room. There are 2 coffee bars very close by. There is no elevator and so one must walk up the stairs with one's luggage. The wifi worked very well. The room was clean and a decent size and the bed was comfortable. Value-wise the price was OK. The next nearest nicer hotel is twice the price. I think that during the peak season it would be too crowded as far as the bathroom situation goes. One bathroom for 5 or 6 rooms in my view is inadequate although I was there during the off season so it was not a problem. Given what is available in the area and the price I think I would repeat my stay at this establishment the next time I come to Genova.

Very good location in the old city. Of course it’s a very old hotel, dark rooms, many steps and no lift as it was in days gone by. If mobility is a problem please check before booking…….i think it’s always made clear that there isn’t a lift. Little extras in the room like tea making facilities and a small fridge . Plenty of dining options are close by, and the nearby old port has many and varied food vans and bars. A Supermarket as well as boutique shops are close by. Lots a touristy things within walking distance including the lookout over the city. We found the hoho bus most worthwhile with a good commentary in various languages and pickup only about 50 away. Hotel is not far from the station but better to get a taxi as the route is a bit convoluted. Very nice helpful proprietor.

Great little hotel. Great price (1/3 of nearby Best Western), Owner was great and very helpful. Updated bathroom and a/c. 5 minute walk to Metro, €15 taxi to cruise port. NOTE: Hotel is on SMALL street not reachable by cab, but 50 meters behind Best Western Metropoli which is. Great walkable area in the heart of Old Genoa.

Apart from the excellent location, the uncomfortable bed, dilapidated room, and it was very cold, so much so that I got sick as soon as I got home, there was a fake heater that only made noise.........I don't recommend it !

Very dirty and messy hotel. Very dirty bathroom. Lack of seriousness and lack of professionalism. After paying for breakfast they returned fake banknotes to me. Little privacy. Avoid! Too bad about the great location

Very dirty place, little professionalism and availability, messy, very old and poorly managed as well as very noisy and smelly. Lack of seriousness from the employees, I strongly advise against it. Old structure without maintenance
