Honestly, the room far exceeded my expectations; it offers excellent value for money at this price. After staying at a different place for the past two nights, I was a bit worried about a significant drop in quality, but thankfully that wasn't the case. Initially, just by the name, I was concerned it might be one of those old Georgetown shophouse-style buildings. However, upon arrival, I found it's actually in what feels like a newer part of town, with wide surrounding roads, and it's located within a larger building clearly marked 'Yiran Pavilion'. The front desk lady was very friendly and spoke Chinese. I suspect the owner might be from Shandong province, as the hallway was adorned with scenic photos from various parts of Shandong, which added a nice personal touch. The room itself was very clean, on par with a typical chain budget hotel in China, and even had a balcony. It's quite close to the mosque, though I didn't hear any calls to prayer. The only minor drawback, as noted in other reviews, is the bathroom door's lack of a door stopper, which was a bit inconvenient.
