Fifth Avenue Hotel

A relatively new hotel in George Town. The location is very convenient, with a 10 to 20-minute walk to all major attractions. A RM300 deposit is required upon check-in. The breakfast is quite good, and daily housekeeping keeps the rooms very clean. The room layout is also quite functional.

Located in the city center, very close to First Avenue Mall. The room was spacious, 57 square meters. There's an infinity pool on the 17th floor and a rich breakfast. It's a 5-star hotel and quite new. After checking in, I took a shower about 2 hours later, but the drain was blocked, causing about 3cm of water to flood the bathroom. After some discussion, they changed my room, and the issue was resolved. Overall, it was very good.

The overall environment is good, as it's a newly built hotel. The rooftop pool offers great views! However, ❌I wouldn't recommend it to friends. 😂 ⭐The details were pretty mediocre: 1. The bath towels had a strange smell, like they'd been stored for a long time and gotten musty. The towel quality was also just average. 2. The central air conditioning is centrally controlled, which means it basically doesn't turn on. Only the fan can be used to cool the room [one of the main reasons I wouldn't recommend it]. ⭐The deposit is charged directly to your card, not as a pre-authorization. So you have to wait at least 7 business days after checking out to possibly receive a refund. I haven't received it yet and feel quite uneasy about it.

The hotel is new and the location is great, with a 7-Eleven right downstairs. It's also very close to the Street Art (Mural) area. The hotel is clean, the rooms are spacious, and there's a good variety of breakfast options. The rooftop pool is also beautiful.

The gym facilities are new, and the rooftop pool is great; it's open until 12 AM, which is perfect since the sun is too strong during the day. It's much better for swimming after sunset. It's also convenient to take a taxi to places like Penang Hill.

Hygiene: My child found some dirty hairballs at the bottom of the pool. The pool itself is actually quite nice, and you can see the glowing bottom at night. Service: As soon as we got out of the car, we saw staff ready to help with our luggage, very enthusiastic.
