The Chambers

First and last stay here. The perfect definition of expectation vs. Reality. The worse service, worse rooms, feels like everything you touch here just wanna kill you. Their kettle doesn’t even reached the top wire. Their iron tried to kill me cause I almost got electrocuted. When asked for a new one, they said no extras…right… When I said I almost got electrocuted they said they can’t do anything cause every guest already used theirs. ***? How tf they still keep it? Look at the pictures yourself. DO NOT STAY HERE!

nice rooms. i like the decoration, but no lift to go upstairs.its difficult if u carry many things.

I stayed for one night at The Chambers Hotel. Though it’s well maintained, it still looks dated but still comfortable enough. The receptionist was friendly enough to upgrade me to family room as my own room type was already full. Wifi is quite strong though it may lag sometimes when streaming videos. The toiletries are relatively sufficient with both shampoo/body soap combo and toilet paper (though there’s a bidet spray). I couldn’t find the hair dryer and was careful about opening drawers as some of them looked old and brittle. It would be good if the furniture could be maintained better. Location-wise, this is a very good location as it’s just opposite the Esplanade. It’s a good location for those who wants to mostly visit points of interest in historical George Town. I picked this location as I needed to take my ferry to Butterworth in the morning and this is just 10 minutes walk away. However, as it’s right next to the main road, there tends to be noisy cars passing by even during the wee hours. Convenience wise, there is a water dispenser in the hotel and there is also a 7-Eleven if you need stuff late at night.
