The Prestige Hotel Penang

This hotel boasts an incredibly convenient location, perfect for city walks right outside the door, and close to all the attractions – highly recommended! The service here is exceptional. In Malaysia, hotels typically have a 3 PM check-in. Upon arrival, we were offered two complimentary drinks and invited to relax in the restaurant. They even gave us two more drinks when we checked out! The beverages here are top-notch, genuinely not like the powdered ones you often find in hotels back home; they are meticulously prepared. The staff's attitude is also excellent. The gentlemen at the entrance always greeted us warmly, opened doors, and helped with luggage. The Chinese-speaking aunties and uncles in the restaurant were also very friendly and welcoming during breakfast. Breakfast is a buffet combined with à la carte options, all complimentary. You can order from the menu, and the dishes are presented beautifully and very refined! The rooms might not be as spacious as some other hotels, but the space is still good, with an Instagrammable vibe. Contrary to what I read on Xiaohongshu, there was no noisy bar, it was very quiet. We couldn't find the elevator to the infinity pool on the fifth floor, so we didn't go, but I hear it's excellent too. Overall, it's definitely worth staying here!

This is a new hotel converted from a historic building. At 1000 RMB a night, it's certainly a bit pricey for Penang. The breakfast was indeed great, and the service was attentive too. However, the bathroom in the room was quite odd; I almost couldn't find it at first. The strangest thing was when I checked in, I found yellow liquid in the toilet. I didn't investigate or complain, just flushed it away and then thoroughly wiped the toilet seat with an alcohol wipe. The area nearby seems to have been the financial district many years ago, but now it's a construction site, very quiet. I'm not sure if their funding ran out or if the workers are just that slow. You can see the former glory, and you can also feel that everything here is slow, not in a leisurely way, but just slow.

The location is excellent, within walking distance to all Old Town attractions. The rooftop pool offers amazing sunrise views, and the price is just right.

I highly recommend the family room! It comes with a separate small room, which even has a window, so it doesn't feel cramped. Although the bathroom is made of glass, there are curtains all around, so privacy isn't an issue. The rooftop view is fantastic, and you can even watch the sunrise. The best part is the location – it's just a short walk to seafood stalls, Chinese food streets, famous durian stands, and the mural street. The mini-bar is very generous, and you can enjoy the welcome drink at the glass house at your leisure; we had ours after check-out.

The hotel's location is excellent, right in Georgetown, with convenient parking and warm, attentive staff. The infinity pool on the fourth floor offers a beautiful panoramic view of Penang's skyline and the sea. The hotel's welcome drink and minibar are very generous.
