As a Penangite, I’ve heard about this long-established hotel and its famous rooftop revolving restaurant for years. I finally decided to give it a try — and honestly, it turned out to be one of the most disappointing stays I’ve ever experienced. First, the soundproofing is terrible. We stayed on the 9th floor and were unlucky to have a family next door with three kids who cried, screamed, and banged on things nonstop. We were exhausted and hungry, so we ordered food delivery to eat first. After dinner, the noise continued, and we were worried it would affect our rest and work the next day. I called the front desk, and the Indian staff named Vannila answered. She suggested sending security to speak to the guests, but I declined and clearly said I was willing to pay extra to change rooms. She promised to check and call me back — but after half an hour, there was still no update. When I went downstairs to follow up, she denied that I had ever mentioned wanting to change rooms! By then, she claimed all rooms were sold out and that I could only move by paying extra. I had already said I was fine paying from the start! Instead of owning up to forgetting, she kept insisting she only suggested calling security. To make things worse, when I went down without my wallet and asked if I could pay via e-wallet or bank transfer, she actually rolled her eyes at me. Seriously? What kind of outdated service attitude is this in 2025? Eventually, we moved to the 12th floor, but that room was just as bad — the next door had no room number which makes me felt spooky as hell !! the bed sheets were stained and torn, the bathroom items were covered in dust, and there was even a used mosquito patch stuck inside the cabinet! The air conditioner felt like it came straight from the North Pole — freezing cold with no proper adjustment, and the furniture was old and grimy. For the price they charge, this is absolutely unacceptable. Shame on you for letting such a “heritage” hotel fall into this state.

The hotel provide iron board and iron in closet , easy to access parking , and not noisy room , toilet with bathtub , the ac is good , overall i recommend this for your staycation.
