Eastern & Oriental Hotel

Celebrated my birthday at Eastern & Oriental Hotel. I emailed them in advance and checked in early, but wasn't given a room with a better view. The Heritage Wing I booked was beautiful, but there was a small cockroach in the first-floor room, which was a bit scary. The hotel's location is good. For breakfast, only the char kway teow on the G floor of the Heritage Wing was delicious. Happy hour was also decent. There was no Chinese-speaking staff, and I personally felt they were more accommodating towards Caucasians. The Indian doorman was very nice. No room decoration was provided for my birthday or anniversary. After some unpleasantness with the room assignment, they sent a small cake. Overall, it's a worthwhile hotel to stay at in Penang, but the service isn't as good as other five-star or resort hotels.

There was hair in the bathtub, which was cleaned after I reported it the next day. Although I was given a room at the end of the hall, I didn't mind too much. This tree is also quite legendary, so there are pros and cons to everything. Overall, I was very satisfied. The restaurant service and in-room amenities were excellent, and the hotel's view was absolutely stunning.

Extended stay. The environment is beautiful, truly perfect for a relaxing trip. The hotel offers the best views. Simply strolling around, napping, and enjoying some tea at the hotel is incredibly pleasant. Highly recommend trying it!

Everything about the hotel was great. Even with many guests, it was still well-organized. The Victory Wing has complete indoor and outdoor facilities, and the rooms are spacious and spotless. They even offer turn-down service at night. The soundproofing could be a bit better, but it was very quiet after 10 PM, and I could fall asleep to the sound of the waves. The staff provided excellent service, were helpful, and check-in and check-out were smooth. My luggage was delivered directly to my room. The breakfast buffet on the first floor offered a wide variety of delicious options. The hotel is a five-minute walk to the Blue Mansion, and getting to other parts of the city by taxi was very convenient and quick.

Facing the sea with stunning views, the weather was clear on the day of check-in, and the blue sky, white clouds, and turquoise sea were beautiful. We stayed in the Victory Wing, and opening the door revealed the ocean – truly refreshing. It's perfect for taking photos, with beautiful scenery everywhere and every corner being picture-perfect. The Nanyang-style architecture makes it, in my opinion, the best hotel in Penang.

The infinity pool at Hotel Indigo in the morning offers a breathtaking 'sea-sky fusion' experience. The location is excellent, making it incredibly convenient to get around.

My stay here was very satisfying. The hotel's location is excellent, close to all the attractions in the Old Town, making dining and shopping very convenient. I stayed in the Heritage Wing, which has historical artifacts on display in the common areas, perfect for a quick browse if you're interested. The staff were friendly and responsive, providing daily newspapers and updating the mini-bar. The breakfast is made-to-order, and while the selection isn't huge, it's served piping hot, which is a big plus. They also offer complimentary afternoon tea and evening cocktails. The only downside was a strange noise in the room at night, and the soundproofing between floors wasn't great. If that's a concern for you, perhaps try the new building; I haven't stayed there, so I can't comment.

This is hands down the best and most elegant hotel I've ever stayed at. From the doorman to the front desk, everything felt like a scene out of a movie – highly recommend! They truly deliver on their promises; the next day, they brought three breakfasts and the morning paper at 5:30 AM because I had an early flight.
