"I stayed for one night at The Chambers Hotel. Though it’s well maintained, it still looks dated but still comfortable enough. The receptionist was friendly enough to upgrade me to family room as my own room type was already full. Wifi is quite strong though it may lag sometimes when streaming videos.
The toiletries are relatively sufficient with both shampoo/body soap combo and toilet paper (though there’s a bidet spray). I couldn’t find the hair dryer and was careful about opening drawers as some of them looked old and brittle. It would be good if the furniture could be maintained better.
Location-wise, this is a very good location as it’s just opposite the Esplanade. It’s a good location for those who wants to mostly visit points of interest in historical George Town. I picked this location as I needed to take my ferry to Butterworth in the morning and this is just 10 minutes walk away. However, as it’s right next to the main road, there tends to be noisy cars passing by even during the wee hours.
Convenience wise, there is a water dispenser in the hotel and there is also a 7-Eleven if you need stuff late at night."
"Nice place tucked away from the busy streets of Georgetown.
Nice and comfy enviroment with unexpectedly good breakfast.
Would recommend to anyone this this 3 star hotel."
"We throughly enjoyed our stay at the Campbell House. Excellent location and reception staffs were welcoming and very helpful. They provided us with maps & recommendations after check in. Always asked us about our day and highlights. Thank you for a memorable experience!
The room is very clean although small for 2 to share. I would recommend the double room for one traveller or short/weekend travellers with less luggages."

"The room was good, even without a window it didn't feel cramped. The space in the room was quite well arranged. The bed, bedsheets and towels were clean. The bathroom amenities were all in good condition. There was hot water, quality soap and shampoo available. The hotel staff were friendly. The location was good, convenient for walking around. On the day of the stay there was a food festival, very close by. This hotel has a 100 ringgit security deposit, which is returned upon check-out."
"Good and execulent with bathbut and highervel and non smoking. swimming pool opens from 7:00 . Christmas celebration. Double bed is very comfortable. Near food testaurant and shopping mall. reasonable price for family trip. happy joureny with that hotel."
"I've had a good stay there for in total 6 days. Clean and comfort place, walking distance to the hospital i went to.
Unfortunately the cafe was closed during my stay. Hopefully it will be opened soon."
"Old building look but inside were newly renovated, the same for the room.
Overall are not bad, with free parking, 24 hours mart downstair.
The breakfast choices are not much but still able to have full breakfast with nice sea or city view.
No swimming pool but my kids were able to enjoy in the bath tub."
"G hotel location is exellent. . i can just go to the next door, Gurney plaza to shop, karaoke, watching movie and most importantly, food is easily accesseble, very suitable for elderly person who cant walk far.
Room is spacious and clean"
"A Chinese-owned bed and breakfast is very close to the surname bridge. There are also many Chinese-opened tea rooms for breakfast. The room is small, the toilet is cool, and no one can speak Chinese when the boss is absent. The grand birthday of the Tiangong, I do not know whether it is fireworks or someone hit the window. Anyway, when the shower was in the window, the window was so loud that the mother was scared. I thought someone was out of the window. I quickly called to come over and check, and I didn’t find out the reason. The staff was also very good. It’s said that we didn’t change rooms, and we didn’t bother to change the last day."

Very Good
GGuest UserHad a wonderful experience yet again at Ascott. We'll appointed rooms, lovely infinity pool and great accessibility make this a good choice. Above and beyond everything else, the service from Mr Yau was immaculate. Felt like a home away from home. Thank you Mr Yau!
GGuest UserFive-star facilities, five-star front desk service, but one-star doorman service. I leave this review for all non-white potential guests: There's evident racial discrimination in the concierge service here. The doormen exclusively assist white guests by greeting them, opening car doors, and handling luggage. My family felt uncomfortable about it, so I can no longer ignore their experience. While the hotel itself is beautiful and all the rest staffs are friendly and professional, I strongly recommend standardizing your SOP or replacing the door team.
British colonialism ended decades ago.
KKrystal TanWe had such an awesome time at Citadines Cecil! Although there is no breakfast, a food market is literally 1 min walk away, diagonally opposite the hotel. Its location is close to the main shopping areas, and most attractions are around 10-25MYR by Grab.
The rooms are clean and new. Toilet is great. Nice and cosy 🥰
Boyfriend loved how they have 24h coffee available all day!
GGuest UserThe hotel was awesome. Starting from the receptions, very warm welcome, was given a room to rest as we arrived early. We were then able to check a few hours early. Thanks. The room were very modern and included all the amenities you can think of, even down to the choice of pillow.
The pool is awesome and an attraction itself as it’s an infinity pool will a glass bottom on the 13th floor.
The car park is also so futuristic and something you defo need to see during your visit. The car park is all automated, you drive in, and the technology parks your car. Sone transformers level stuff.
Location is very central, few mins from the arts of George Town. Few seconds away from 4 shopping malls. Opposite is the top towers.
Grab us super easy and cheap to get to wherever you need.
AAnonymous UserHotel is clean and new. Beds were clean n soft. Located in a calmer and quieter side of George Town (road was not congested and quite) yet walking distance from all the good stuff.
The view from the room was great as the hotel was a taller building among all the lower shop houses. Really happy I picked this hotel.
MMardiana BintiHaving stayed at JEN Penang on more than three occasions, I can confidently say that my experiences have consistently been satisfactory, earning this hotel a solid 4-star rating.
From the moment you step into the elegant lobby, the welcoming ambiance sets the tone for your stay. The staff is always courteous and professional, ensuring smooth check-ins and swift responses to any requests. Their attention to detail makes every visit feel personalized.
The rooms are spacious, impeccably clean, and thoughtfully designed with modern amenities. The comfortable beds and well-maintained bathrooms enhance the overall relaxation experience. Though the decor leans towards a classic style, it remains timeless and cozy.
Dining at the hotel's club lounge has always been a delight, offering a diverse menu that caters to various tastes in particular, stands out with its wide selection and fresh ingredients.
The location of the hotel is also a plus, conveniently situated near key attractions and transport links. enjoyable experiences I've had. I look forward to my next stay!
GGuest UserThe good:
No deposit upon checking in, check in and out was a breeze, parking provided, the room carpet is clean and centralised aircond cools the room very quickly, the bed and bedding is comfy, cleanliness is tiptop, there's a pool and gym that's nice, and the TV channels were decent
The bad:
Did not validate my car plate and upon driving out, i was charged rm60+ for overnight parking. this was sorted out very quickly but was a hassle, the entrance to room from the parking lot is weird and not disabled friendly.
Overall, i had a good rest at st giles wembley at a decent price. Joined the membership and got a nice cup of coffee at the lobby. I got a room near the lift, so there were noises outside thus the soundproofing is not very good. But felt safe and the clean room feels good. A solid 4 out of 5, could have been better if it came with breakfast minus the hiccup at parking fees.
CCalvan TanOur regular hotel whenever we visit Penang. Hotel is clean and just beside New Lane Night Market (except Wednesday). The only downside is the swimming pool comes with lots of crows and pigeons. Hope the hotel management can set up some netting or so to prevent the birds from coming to the pool. Anyway thanks everyone. ☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️
AAnonymous UserThe location of the hotel is remarkable, very good, convenient to go everywhere. Downstairs is next to a breakfast shop, the roast meat and white chicken are absolutely delicious, especially delicious.
The hotel is very clean, and the accommodation is satisfactory. It is a good choice to only sleep and mainly go out for fun. The only dissatisfied waitress who came down to open the door for us was thin and wearing a nose stud, very arrogant and impolite. The slightly fatter waitress responsible for checkin is very good, and the male waiter who cleans the room is also very good.
The average price for hotels in George Town is US$115 on weekdays, and US$128 on weekends (Friday-Saturday).
