Our stay was not very good at the House of Edward. First, we received no codes to enter the property, and had to call 3 times to get through to someone. Once we finally reached a real person, they did send us the codes, but it took well over an hour to sort it out. The room had some nice features -- including a nice outdoor terrace, and a large comfortable bed, but it was not that clean. And, the kitchen lacked basic items such as dish towels, paper towels and a sponge. And, the shampoo dispenser in the shower was completely gone, and the conditioner dispenser was empty and didn't work anyway! We could hear people going up and down the stairs until at least 4am. And, there was a mouse that scampered across the floor when I turned on the light.
Also, on *******, it states there is "parking available." What that translates into is a parking lot in front of the hotel that requires you pay every 5 hours outside the hours of 11pm and 9am. We were about 30 minutes late when we went to dinner, and ended up with a 40E ticket! And, if you have one of the upper floors, make sure you know there is no lift/elevator -- and the stairs are quite steep and narrow. I'd never stay here again -- I'd opt to book the Ghent River Hotel, right across the square.
