Sheraton Cairo Hotel & Casino

Located in Old Cairo, close to the Nile and the Egyptian National Museum. The hotel has several spacious restaurants offering different cuisines, and the staff are all English-speaking and helpful.

I didn't have high expectations for accommodation in Egypt, so overall, I thought it was pretty good. The room was quite large, a bit old but reasonably clean. The bathroom was okay, but the sink was too small with no space for toiletries, and most importantly, it was leaking. The bed was comfortable, the bedding was clean, and the pillows were very comfy, so we slept soundly and rested well. They provide two complimentary bottles of water daily, and you can ask the front desk for more if needed. The staff at the front desk were very nice and helpful. The hotel offers disposable slippers but no toothbrushes or other toiletries. Breakfast was delicious, with a wide variety of options and good taste, enough to fill you up before starting your day.

The location and service are both excellent. The facilities are much newer compared to the Hilton across the street. The only downside is that parking is a bit difficult right at the entrance.

The room was spacious and clean, with complete facilities, though a bit dated. The location is excellent, right in the heart of the Old City by the Nile, offering great views from the window – the Nile sunrises and sunsets are beautiful. It's a short taxi ride to the old Egyptian Museum. However, traffic in the Old City center can be congested, making travel times longer. If you want to experience the Old City's charm and the Nile scenery, this is a good choice. Hotels in Egypt aren't the best value for money; they tend to be on the pricier side.

We stayed in the new building, and it was fantastic. The hotel's interior, both the facilities and the ambiance, felt very much like what you'd find in China. However, just outside the hotel, it was a completely different world, truly Egypt. The hotel not only has restaurants but also entertainment facilities, and there's a bank for currency exchange on the ground floor. Everything is very convenient! The location is also excellent. We chose a Nile-view room, and whether it was watching the sunrise or the night view, it was incredibly enjoyable! We'll definitely book this place again next time we visit.

The service was quite good. Lower floors near the road can be a bit noisy, but higher floors are fine. They upgraded our room type, and the room was large and clean, with quick service response. The hotel has many restaurants; the ramen and fried chicken at the Japanese restaurant were a lifesaver for my 'Chinese stomach' – I really couldn't eat any more 'Western food.' The view from the Nile corner is excellent; if you get up early, you can see a beautiful sunrise. It's a bit far from the airport but convenient for visiting the pyramids. My friend's room was even higher and offered a direct view of the pyramids; with a camera, you can get some amazing shots.

This is an older five-star hotel, and the facilities are, as expected, top-notch. Although the rooms show a bit of age, they're still very good. The bedding was comfortable to sleep on, and the air conditioning was just right. From the balcony, you can see the Nile River. All luggage has to go through a scanner upon entry, which is fine. However, the scanning equipment is too small; my 28-inch suitcase couldn't even fit through it. I'm not sure how they manage that. Dining options in the surrounding area are not very convenient.

This is an older, established hotel, with many Western guests. I stayed in the North Tower, in a newly renovated room. It's not luxurious, but it's clean and tidy. The hotel entrance can be a bit congested, but the balcony offers a classic, beautiful view of the Nile. The hotel has a Japanese restaurant; it's a bit pricey, but the food is decent.
